Looks like your son is now going to get a LOT of phone calls from E90 owners as they try this out.

I have a Question :

Most Nokia phones DO NOT have the automatic phonebook transfer. Is it possible to either manually transfer the numbers? Or is it possible to save the number into the radio somehow?

I won't have i-drive :-(

I am completely astounded. This is a SNAFU. BMW should have ensured the all blackberry and Treo devices can be paired.

But if the phone is not providing the necessary interfaces you can not blame BMW for this! ;-)

So it looks like the Treo 650 DOES work with the BT? I'm such a moron for not ordering my car with BT. Any word of a retrofit being available?

No, it will not work. P900 does not support the handsfree profile.

I have the P910i, with the handsfree profile, but it is very unstable. Since i recieved the car (E90 320d), last 17 june, only worked once. The obex file transfer do not work either, meaning that there are no contacts upload to the system.

speaking of bluetooths

My dealer said that the bluetooth phone charger that is installed between the seats is not yet available. Is this true? If the cradle is not used, does this change anything ?(reception, hands free, etc.) Also, read in the manual that if no cradle then phone is not hooked to the antenna. My service guy says, no problem using BT, even if no cradle. Any comments?
Thanks,
psyran

The oversight is not on BMW's part. The problem is that manufacturers take liberties with the Bluetooth Standard.

The cradle supposedly offers the benefit of using the shark fin antenna. I have a Motorola RAZR V3 and it works well, but not great without the cradle. I charge it by plugging an adapter into the rear cigarette lighter outlet on my 545. All thinks considered Bluetooth is awesome, especially with Nav / voice Command.

My Sony Ericsson K700i works fine with E90 with navi. Did anyone experience delay when you first press the phone button to answer the phone?? For those curious with Navi, yes, bluetooth thing will have caller ID show up on the screen.

I have a v710 and it works great! Phonebook d/l to the car and names are displayed whenever I get a call. I was on the phone once with my dad on the way to go the car once and once I got in I thought i lost my signal. A few seconds later I hear my dads voice over the cars stereo system. Just make sure you have the latest firmware update and you are good to go!
