Thanks, Tom. I don't completely understand why you can't share that info but I respect your decision so, the Brembo kit I'm looking at has the BM monoblock vs the standard monoblock caliper. The GT BM6 having a 225.5mm radius vs GT M6 having a 220.7mm radius. Both are 380mm rotors but significantly different wheel clearance requirements.

Cheers!

The restriction on sharing barrel id is partially down to protecting our design info but it's also not ideal for confirming clearances as the kits can still have issues with other aspects of clearances.

None of our 18" wheels clear the BM6 kits when they have a 380mm rotor including Sprint Line designs like the EC-7RS. This is a barrel clearance issue and cannot be solved through spacers. One thing I would note though is that I don't see a BM6 kit on the Racetechnologies site for the 335s so I assume you're looking at E9X M3 kits? My statement above holds true for the chassis where we've seen this template/kit surface ie F8X M3/M4 and E9X M3 but if you have an non-m template we haven't seen or tested, I can have our engineering team take a look. We'd need either the template or full Brembo part number to do so though.

Our current EC-7RS range clears the E9X M3 GT M6 kits (1N1.9003A and other variations) in all sizes with no spacers.

SM-10RS Technical Video

The max discount for both deals have been unlocked and we are down to just one week remaining on both the 18" and 19" Group buys. Be sure to lock in your pledge soon if you’re looking for deep discounts on any of our Sprint Line designs. In the meantime, we’ve had quite a few questions asking how the three members of the Forged Sprint line compare with one another. We hope this new technical video helps to outline these differences and makes choosing your next set of APEX wheels even easier.

We know that the SM-10RS isn’t available yet in every fitment we make for BMWs. If you’d like to see this design get additional fitments in the future, please let us know!

Not at the moment, no. We'd have to see a significant amount more demand for those in flow formed and forged before considering putting time into engineering another version. Let us know if you'd like to see them become a reality though!

Our Group Buys are coming to an end!

E90 2006 330i Sedan

Looking for fitment advice for Square Setup.
18x9.5" ET28, VS-5RS in Motorsport Gold
This is variation of APEX fitment guide, but ET28 instead of ET35.
I'm running moderately lowered suspension with -3.0 front camber, -2.0 rear camber.

Thoughts?

APEX Reference:
Hardcore Track & Race, Square Setup
Front & Rear: 18x9.5" ET35 with 265/35-18 tires
ARC-8, EC-7, EC-7RS, FL-5, SM-10, VS-5RS
At least 5mm front spacers are required for inner strut clearance. Aftermarket suspensions that are known for reduced inner clearance (see below) can not be used with this fitment.
At least -3 degrees of front negative camber required.
275/35-18 tires can be used with additional negative camber.
LCI: Sedan and wagon may require rolled rear fenders and/or negative camber to prevent rubbing.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out in regards to your E90 3-Series. Running an 18x9.5" square setup on the non-M E9X chassis can be a bit tricky due to both inner suspension and outer fender clearances. That said, overall fitment is typically dependent on your specific suspension and camber plate setup, as well as your specific tire selection.

That said, would you be able to share what suspension and camber plates you have on the car? Also, if you have any idea what specific compound tire you want to run in the 265/35-18 size, that would also be helpful.

Once I have that info, I can dive into that setup in a bit more detail.

Giersen,
ISC coilovers with integrated camber plates.
10kg/560lb front, 12kg/672lb rear springs.
Currently a square set-up with 18" x 8.5" ET37, and 3mm spacers.
Nankang CR-S 255/35R18, which has a tread width of 10.1"
No rubbing against front suspension or fender. Or rear for that matter.
But this Nankang tire seems too wide for the 8.5" rim.

For the proposed 9.5" wide rims, I would be looking at the same 255/35 Nankang or the 265/35 which has a 10.5" tread width.
Or Goodyear 3R in 265/35 (9.5" tread width) or 275/35 (9.8" tread width)
Or Maxxis RC-1, 265/35 or 275/35
Or Conti Extreme Force, 275/35 10.0" tread width

Thanks

Hi there,

Thank you for the run-through and additional info on your car!

For the 18x9.5" ET35 square setup using 265/35-18 tires on the non-M E9X chassis, typically a 5mm front spacer will be required to clear linear spring motorsport-focused coilovers. With the additional front spacer, front race-spec camber plates will also be required to dial-in around -3.0 to -3.5 degrees of front camber to ensure a poke and rub-free fit. The actual camber required will depend on your ride height and specific tire selection. In the rear, this setup will not require any additional mods or spacing.

If you opted for the lower offset 18x9.5" ET28 square setup with 265/35-18 tires, you will be able to fit that wheel up front without any additional spacing. However, the ET28 will be 2mm more aggressive up front than the ET35 W/ 5mm spacers, so some additional front negative camber may be required in comparison. In the rear, the ET28 will be 7mm more aggressive than the ET35, which may require a rear fender roll or some additional rear negative camber to fit a 265/35-18 track tire without rubbing.

275/35-18 tires can also technically be used with both setups with additional negative camber to fit but that tire size will be a bit more difficult to make work on the ET28 due to the reduced offset compared to the ET35.

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

We've been restocking our VS-5RS regularly since its launch. I wouldn't recommend M3 fitments for your car, but you can view our E9X 335 fitments on the following page: https://apexwheels.com/vehicles/bmw/...18x9%22%20ET30

You can make wheel selections and view inventory levels on that page.

Some of you may have already seen the reveal of this project on our instagram, but we wanted to reach out to the BMW community on the forums as well to collect feedback about the development of a new wheel design.

Project ML-10 Background:

After Josh, one of our Senior Product Engineers installed a widebody kit on his race car project, he had to design a custom set of wheels to fit his extreme application. Originally a one off project, when he showed the team what he created, we were floored. And our community was too when we shared a picture on Instagram and Facebook.

We’ve made it an official project, but to make this wheel a reality, we need you to decide on some of the details by taking our survey.

Need more information? Subscribe to our newsletter and check out project updates along with additional photos on our website.

A Classic Returns.

Our Forged ARC-8s are back and better than ever. As part of our new Touring Line, these wheels bring Real Performance to a classic design in the fitments you love. Strength and Stiffness were prioritized in this revamp of our Forged ARC-8 and new forged features from our Sprint line were incorporated including the Sprint Line inner lip which offers more protection where it’s needed most.

Concavity was a priority when we designed the newest iteration of this iconic wheel. With the new freedom allowed to our engineers via the use of our Motorsport Blanks we’re now able to offer more concave fitments including profile 4 ARC-8s in select fitments for the first time ever.

A Fitment For You

Deeper Concavity: A High Profile Change

Back when we launched our first ever Forged ARC-8R wheel, we set out to make a wheel that could do it all. The old Forged ARC-8R featured an 1800 lb load rating, which made it a bit heavy. It also had great brake caliper clearance, because its spokes were less concave than the Flow Formed version of the wheel. The result was a lot of compromise, and it didn’t excel in any specific area.

Fast forward to today. With the recent addition of the Enduro Line, a Forged ARC-8 would no longer need to sport a high load rating. To save weight, we brought the load rating down to match the specs of the Sprint Line family. Because Sprint line wheels already offer exceptional brake clearance for most every caliper, we could let the ARC-8RT’s spokes go as aggressively concave as possible, only giving up clearance for a few race calipers that our other wheels can clear.

With less constraint related to clearing the largest brake kits, more concavity is possible with these new ARC-8RTs. The 19x11 ET44 on the rear of this F87 M2 is a perfect example of a profile 4 ARC-8RT, the most concave ARC-8s we’ve ever produced.

Three distinct forged families allow these wheels to exist with less compromise and more of the features that fans of the ARC-8 love.

ML-10RT now available for Pre-Order

The ML-10RT forged wheel started life as an engineering passion project. You brought it to life.

It’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for. The green flag has dropped and the Forged ML-10RT pre-sale is officially underway! Reserve your set now to ensure you receive wheels from the first production batch, and save 15% off + free shipping in the continental U.S. Due to extremely high demand, we expect a number of popular fitments and finishes to sell out, so act fast. Pre-order discounts are based on product availability, and are subject to change at any time. Please note we fulfill orders in chronological order, so the sooner you place your pre-order, the faster you will get your wheels.

Features

AN EVOLUTION OF PERFORMANCE - The ML-10RT honors the motorsport designs so many of us fell in love with during the golden era of Touring Car and Sports Car racing. However, its ancestry ends there. Our in-house engineering team pulled out all the stops to create a monoblock forged wheel that's lighter, stronger and stiffer than multi-piece wheels of the past. Utilizing the latest forging technology to offer an impeccable design, backed by Real Performance, at an obtainable price point.

SIDE-MILLED SPOKES - The ML-10RT incorporates Apex’s extra-deep, side-milled spokes. Any excess material that doesn’t add strength is carved out using a precision CNC ball cutter. Often deemed cost-prohibitive by others, this aggressive side-milling shaves critical weight, and adds a sharp contrast in the design of the center spoke area.

SPRINT INNER LIP - The ML-10RT borrows the race-proven Sprint Spec inner lip from our Sprint Line wheels, providing critical strength to the unsupported inner lip of the wheel. Adding 32% more material where it matters most. Don’t settle for under-engineered wheels, attack both the track and your cities potholes with confidence

10K TONS OF PRESSURE - To make our forged wheels the strongest we can, we applied as much pressure as possible using a 10,000 ton forge. This extreme pressure increases the strength of the aluminum by eliminating porosity and improving the grain structure.

TRUE MOTORSPORT BLANKS - Many companies use 3rd-party blanks intended for non-motorsport wheels which can severely limit sizes, concavity, spoke design, and critical brake clearance. We designed our very own blank profiles from scratch to give us total control over the final product.

INDEPENDENTLY TESTED - We don't rely solely on computer simulations or unverifiable in-house testing. We believe independent testing is critical to protect consumers in this unregulated industry. Our Touring Line wheels are independently tested by ITS at their Michigan facility following JWL standards but pushed to much higher loads and much longer durations.

MACHINED LIP - The ML-10RT is our first forged wheel to feature a machined lip, which really makes it a standout design within the Apex catalog. The lip in combination with the mesh center pays homage to the glory days of motorsport, and is sure to dramatically transform the look of any car. The best part - the machined lip has a gloss clear coat and doesn't require polishing.

VEHICLE SPECIFIC SPOKE PROFILES - The lipped design of the ML-10RT inherently limits brake clearance. Rather than making every fitment as conservative as possible, we utilized our extensive 3D vehicle scanning library to shrink wrap each fitment's spoke design around respective OEM and popular aftermarket brake kits. Leveraging our vehicle research and engineering team, we find a perfect balance of concavity and brake clearance.

BUILT FOR IMPACT SOCKETS - Don’t settle for wheels that require undersized tuner lugs or thin walled sockets. All Apex wheels accommodate over-sized race lugs and impact sockets to make swapping wheels lightning fast.

OEM CENTER CAP COMPATIBILITY - Love that OEM+ look? Us too. Our engineers went the extra mile and incorporated a flush mounted OEM center cap support into the ML-10RT. Whether you want to show off your included Apex center caps or stick with your OEM caps, the ML-10RT will seamlessly accept both.

LASER-ENGRAVED SPECS - As car enthusiasts ourselves, we know how frustrating it is to locate and decipher wheel specs that have been hastily marked on a wheel or become unreadable over time. Our Touring Line wheels have laser-engraved specs on the barrel, in plain sight, making them easy to find and read.

Pre-Order your set of ML-10RT today

Buy with confidence. With only a 25% deposit initially required for these wheels, you can Pre-Order today and lock in the deep discount and ensure you get your preferred fitment and finish early. Don’t miss your chance to be the among the first to run this all-new Apex design.

Check out your vehicles wheel configurator or Fitment Guide for availabile wheel sizes and fitment information such as tire options and brake clearance.

We're restricted by the widths and offsets the chassis requires in this regard. You can't make a lipped wheel design with extreme concavity while also offering narrower widths and higher offsets that E9x 3 series require for bolt-on fitments. Here is a look at our 18x9 ET30 with centercap support.

Centercap Support: A Community Requested feature

When the ML-10 was initially designed by our Engineer Josh, it was created without support for a centercap. This is a logical approach for his intended use case: a widebody E46 track car driven at speeds where the caps just get in the way. After we launched our ML-10 design survey, it became clear that the majority of the community preferred to have the ability to run a center cap, whether it be ours or an OEM BMW cap. Adding the material in to allow the caps to seat into the wheel changes the look of the ML-10RT design, but we love the clean cap integration. Check out the photos below to see an 18x9 ET30 5x120 BMW wheel with the center cap support

Beyond just the cap, This is our first showcase of a profile 2 wheel. This size (18x9 ET30) is one of our most popular sizes for non-M 3 series and some M cars as well. Even with a lower profile like this profile 2, the lip depth of the ML-10RT remains the same which is a unique aspect of the monoblock construction that separates this design from similar 3-piece wheels.
