We have an option to get resonators on the front pipes to make the exhaust even quieter. Personally, I think the non-res is quiet enough as it is, but this really makes sure it's a classy sound.

Stranger things have happened. I've seen aftermarket exhausts actually make a car lose hp compared to stock.. not very common and not to say this is the case here... maybe someone could test it again on the same day.

Just my $.02
I hope to get mine soon. I ordered one from you guys..

Do what Revlis did.....unplug the selenoid that controls the valve see:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...85&postcount=1

BTW, I would be interested to see if this had an impact on performance. Some of the golf-tee mod people claim they feel like they are getting less power.

so unplug that and go on dyno? i read that post before and it says that the error code stays.

if the line is bent bad that wouldn't make a difference right as long as the end is still plugged?

From what I remember, the code gets stored but you don't get an error message so who cares. I don't think it will make a difference but I am a bit of a purist, who actuate the valve when you don't need to.

BTW, I still get the sense of regret....don't....you have a sweet car and unless you are getting a walmart exhaust, you are not going to lose power on a cat back for a turbo. While I think you should do another set of dynos, you may consider that you are stressing your engine and drivetrain with this....

i don't have a regret of buying the ss exhaust. i just don't know why im getting the #s i did and want to know if there is something wrong or was it just the conditions that day.

i never drive the car hard. i have always babied the car and drove normally and only time it has been driven hard is the two dynos which i made them do at ideal oil temp at around 210-230.

+1 thanks on having a sweet car, you got the xi , but i just have that urge of "why" you know? i just need to get that answered. i only plan on doing the following engine mods to the car, ss exhaust, sstt, forge, gruppe m intake or afe when it is out or the se filter, and a intercooler. after that i plan on just doing cosmetics c/f engine cover, oem bmw c/f strut, m body kitk c/f interior, etc.

btw thanks for the help once again. i will have to check the vacuum line tommorow morning to see if the plug is still in there. i really want to figure this out.

its supposed to snow tommorow here in NY 4-7 inches. im planning to get another dyno early morning to match the humidity and temp factor like my original.

based on everybody comments i get see its either the vaccum line or a loose bolt causing a minor leak.

I'm not understanding why this would affect the power since the aftermarket exhaust doesn't have the oem set-up. There would be nothing for the solenoid to control - no valve to open

It's not the lack of the valve that's the problem it's not plugging the vacuum line after removing the valve and having a vacuum leak that's the problem.

If you are using another dyno than the one you originally did you really can't compare the numbers.

Just some sort of anomaly with your baseline dyno .... First baseline dyno is incorrect, and it shows higher HP numbers then you should of had. To bad you can't prove that, since the exhaust is already on.
