the big question is - How do we find out if our cars were damaged?
I would rather wait a month more, than gettinga repaired vehicle...

Me too - I would rather wait again then get a repaired car.

I talked to my CA at the dealership, and he hasn't heard anything. He also said that no M3's were supposed to be coming here until March or April, so he's not sure the story is even true.

That is what my CA told me as well, but then again - look at the vehicle in the background. They are all common to the US. So, the pics were taken in the US....sadly

This is just so sad ...
I wonder if anyone will be able to tell us if our cars were damaged before they get to SC.

My dealer did not know about the accident. I guess we would not know if our cars were damaged until they get unloaded at SC. Fingers crossed! According to some posts about 20% of the cars were damaged. Hey, let's hope we are in the other 80%. If most of the cars were M3's, it's not so bad, because there are other boats coming right after this one. But it's really bad for the ED cars.

Check here:
http://www.2wglobal.com/www/WEP/index.jsp --> Customer Center --> Cargo Tracking --> Auto Cargo and put in your VIN there. If you don't see it - it's not there.

It'll be interesting to see how this gets handled for ED cars. I expect that BMW will be pretty liberal with replacement of damaged cars, if there are any damaged ED cars. It's my understanding that these vessels carry as many as 3,000 vehicles, in which case the damage is confined to a little more than 10%.

All I know is that the damages were caused by the big storm in the Atlantic....

Must have been a really bad storm. You would think the cars are secured down pretty well for transport across the atlantic.

Wasnt that storm the main reason for the initial delay???

The W&W website now shows the Courage delayed getting into Charleston, SC. It now shows it leaves Baltimore on the 17th and arrives in Charleston on the 19th.

I guess it takes longer to unload damaged cars!!
