Washed mine yesterday, then it rained on all the shite on the roads round here so back to square 1! No point actually trying to keep it clean in winter, just wash it periodically to get rid of the cow/horse shit and salt.

Nice pics Carlos - DXB's looking fine.

Oh, did you ever get Trackwah fitted ?

It's just that I thought I saw the DXB meandering its way around the canals around Harlow, this morning, beautifully clean, however.

All the best.

Mine hasn't been washed since the BMWLand meet in December. The wheels are now the same colour as the paintwork (Not-so Sparkling Graphite!)

I last washed mine four weeks ago. My step-father has washed it twice since That's the cost of borrowing my car and having use of the company fuel card.

Car cleaning

I was going to ask people about cleaning there cars....I like to get it cleaned once a week, not sure if this is the norm or not. I can't stand it looking dirty. I take it to a valet drive through service, I know the guys there and they do a fantastic job. I live in a flat and find it takes me atleast 1.5 hours to do a proper job- but these guys do just fine so take it there all the time now. I probably spend £40 a month getting it cleaned- but it always looks clean....

agree in the winter its v.hard to keep clean for longer than a couple of days!!!

In the summer I aim for at least once a week. But during the winter its really hard to justify spending at least two hours washing the car when it will look just the same the second you drive it away...
I know it's good to wash it but I just have to tell myself to do it for the car instead of focusing on it looking clean.

Washing my car...I'm sure I've done that at some point...er...I think.

Seriously, I don't wash my car that much, as in Monaco Blue with the number of miles I do it lasts about a day in Wintertime. As it happens though, I did wash it on 22nd December or thereabouts.

On previous cars I used to either get it valeted every couple of weeks, when I worked in places where the little Eastern European men or equivalent offered such a service near the office. I've also used carwashes and jetwashes from time to time, though not in the E91 as carwashes are rumoured to take the boot spoiler off every now and again.

Just a quick wash to get the grit/salt off it and get the wheels cleaned up.

Last washed... today!

All clean and shiny again, but it was going dark by the time I finished.

Just got a call from DHL, I'll get my detailing supplies tomorrow so its washing time this wednesday!
Although the car doesn't look quite as bad as before since we've had some rain, it actually looks SG now instead of grey/white...

If someone 'up there' is nice enough to give me some time in the day which isn't filled with work or arguments, I'll go clean my car. Otherwise, it's remaining dirty until I next have a holiday or I'm single... can't believe only the first week of the new year has gone and I'm already wishing for 2009

Of course, if any of you pseudo-professional detailers have a spare moment and would like to help me out...?!!! Uh, no practicing on my car though

Hmmm, I've heard good things about Brillo pads. How's about we come down and try them out for you Tony?

Be my guest, although bear in mind I will be testing out the effectiveness of the Brillo pads on your helmet first...
