When I visit the parents and STILL have to take care of the yard....I appreciate it when my Dad doesn't notice that I mulched all the leaves instead of raking them and putting them on the curb. What a suckaaaaa!

So when you click Appreciate, the number on the right changes from 1 to 2 and then back to 1. But some folks get a 3. What am I missing?

Did you double click it? It might for a moment register two Appreciations, then the software realizes its the same user and puts it back to one. The number refers the amount of people who appreciated that particular post.
The one under your name near your avatar it the amount of posts that people appreciated. Does that make sense?
You're at 3 now by the way...
