got my VIN no today and still msg "out of production" today...

How did you get the VIN number? From the dealer or is it somewhere online (if so I must have missed it) or via the 800 number?

Your CA should be able to give it to you.

Hey KanosWRX, I feel your pain man! I almost freak out even with 2 weeks of ".... no scheduled production date" message. Dude, hope you get some update ASAP. Best of luck to you

So I'm curious, how many of you got a manual transmission? When I placed my order, the dealer attempted to find a 3 series sedan with manual transmission and couldn't find a single one available in all of North America (even checked South Africa allotments)! It seems all cars destined to dealers are automatic, so I am guessing most manuals have to be ordered.

I ordered a manual. The dealer had several automatic 92's so i drove some of those, and then he had a 90 with manual transmission and i drove that.

Ordered my January 2nd. Car is at the port of exit await a vessel.

My cabrio has been waiting at the port since 1/11 for a boat to Cali. Anyone else here on the same timetable for the west coast?

now comes the painful wait. it's just sitting there!!!! hopefully there's not a big back-up of cars ahead of me waiting to ship to New York.

I ordered my 328 sedan (manual) around December 10th and the car didn't go into production until late last week. It was delayed several weeks for what was explained to me as "the differential supplier had a problem". Car's in the paint shop now.

just called and mine is waiting for transport.........I'm soooooo excited...please don't be long....hoping for mid Feb now but that probably isn't possible...got VIN from my dealer....he emailed it to me after I asked him for it...my understanding is the VIN is available as soon as it goes into Prod

Really once the car is completed. They give you the partial VIN as its being produced in case anything happens on the line. I ordered 12/29 and my car will be waiting for me in Greer 2/21. If you ordered before that, I'd say you'll be looking at mid-Feb. If after, probably end of the month.

My car is still on the way to the port of exit....Hopefully it will get there today....I think the next ship for the east coast is the "Emden" which leaves on 1/26/08....Unfortunately that seems like an eternity away....Don't take this the wrong way, but It comforts me to know there are others out there going through this same kind of torture. Misery loves company.......
