CALI guys; what are you doing to pass smog?

Smogs due In about a month the 18th ! Anybody have any luck anywhere . Out of wallet or whatever I need this help please !

I have smog coming up in next 4-5 months and have postponed my DP install for this reason.
Has anyone passed smog in Cali using DP fix and running map 0 for 100 miles with JB4 rOr is there other greasy ways?

Read through the pages. When I started this thread, I posted that I was able to pass smog with just the dp bypass fix made by andy. I went to the smog station full bulk ons. With downpipes, intercooler, Injen dci, CP, bov, full exhaust with no secondary cats and passed. I only drove around like 20 miles before going in. Dp fix works. Visual is another story.

So , with the DP fix and let's say I put my stock air box in . I should "pass" ?

I also passed with andy's dp fix with optional turn off switch as well.

For me, I removed my jb4, dci and chargepipe with bov and put the stock ones back on. I left the catless dp and fmic in. Drove the car about 87-100 miles for catalyst monitor to be ready before I took it in the next day.

It will help if you have an obd2 scanner that reads obd2 readiness and save you from going in twice.

If I'm running Cobb I could just switch it to map 0 essentially and then do what you did with the intakes . Lol I don't have myself a charge pipe yet . Will definitely look into this . ! Wish me luck .

One last question anybody know any NorCal smog shops that don't , do the sniffer !?

Are most of your guys smog requirements for a regular smog shop or a STAR smog shop?

i believe if your car is newer it doesn't need the sniffer, doesn't matter the shop... i just picked a random shop here in nor cal and they didn't use the sniffer.. Visual and OB2 wellness code check only

i did pass, no downpipes.. only a tune and intake, which i swapped in the oem and ran stage 0..

I just moved to the Bay area from Portland, Oregon and need to pass smog.

Current Mods:
VRSF Catless Downpipes
VRSF 7'' FMIC
MHD Stage 2 Tune
BMW Performance Exhaust

I just installed the Wedge DP Fix and flashed back to stock (stage 0).

What are next steps?

-Drive ~100 miles until OBD2 is all ready
-Smog test?

Few Questions:

-Do you think I'll pass the visual with the VRSF DP? And is it safe to drive w/ DP fix for ~100 miles?

-Can anyone recommend me a shop to get the smog done in the bay area?

Mhd will show you readiness when you scan ecu for codes. Make sure theyre all ready. You need to drive at a constant 40-60 mph for like 10-15 miles to set cats iirc. If you go over 60mph it won't go ready.

Constant 40-60mph for 10-15 miles? That seems tough to do considering those speeds involve surface streets with street lights. Any idea if this is actually true?

Did it today in the right lane of the freeway. Doesn't beed to be 15 miles straight, but you'll have to do 10-15 miles inside these parameters to get it set.

"Biennial Smog Certification Obtained for the Wrong Year

If a vehicle owner obtains a smog certification in a year it is not required, the department's automated system will adjust the "Smog Due" date for the second renewal following receipt and update of the certification."

so technically, we can smog anytime (while car is stock-ish) and won't be due for another two years?
