A quick Google search revealed no media reports of Clarkson being fired. Proof, please.

I am not at all surprised or feel a sense of loss because of this. You punch a coworker, you should get fired. Period. Been a TG watcher the past decade but you cross the line when you physically harm someone. JC is no exception
