All of the runs I posted were with an e30 mix, including the MHD Stage 1+FMIC tune. Obviously, the tune makes the difference in requested load/boost/timing/etc, and the e30 supports the tune. The car's DME calculates load and won't go above the requested load in the tune. I could run the stock tune on 93 octane gas and 116 race gas, but the car won't make any more power above the requested load that's in the tune.

Hmmmm...if you like sir daft setup, why not try to find a cheap set of used stock 335i exhaust online, reinstall your secondaries, and mate that to cat less downpipes? Sure it's a pia and feels like going backwards, but if your really after performance and sound, this will get you the performance your looking for while retaining the sound level that you are so afraid of exceeding.

I take my entire family around in my car, not just wife or kids, but my elder parents, grand-parents, work superiors, and other professionals. I travel in areas where it's better not to make too much noise or stand out. There's a lot of different reasons why I don't want the extra volume and especially the raspiness or drone.

When I mentioned that I didn't want to do DP's in my car due to sound, I was referring to the rasp and drone, which it appears will be there due to the PE unless I add in resonators and put the secondary cats back in, which may be more trouble than its worth.

I'm perfectly fine keeping my setup as is if I have to. The purpose of this thread was to see if there's anything ELSE that I could be doing other than downpipes, meth/e85, replacing stock turbos, and needless to say replacing original engine...
You're running around with the PE and no secondary cats and you're calling the people with downpipes and stock catback 20 year old kids? You do realize your car is significantly more obnoxious with noise than the kids with stock catback right?

You are working with a set engine and turbo combination. If you want more power you have two options- power adders (meth, e85, race fuel, nitrous) or increasing flow (exhaust system, charge system etc). Your question has been answered multiple times you're just not listening because you're busy driving professionals around in your stealthy bmw with PE exhaust and no secondary cats I presume. Just pointing out what doesn't really make any sense to me here, I suggest you just enjoy what you have since you're not a 20 year old kid looking to drag race.

I'm just trolling e90 pay no mind. These threads crack me up, 4 pages worth.

Did someone say my name?

And that video of mine is a bit misleading. I had the external microphone under the hood which obviously exaggerated the spooling sound. That said, upgraded inlets like MMP's or VRSF's that shorten the intake tract going into the turbos will increase the amount of spool noise you hear.

^^^ see above reply to JKlad regarding the reason for such loud spool. In addition, you and I sound like we are very similar in the way we need our 335's to come across. I too use mine as a DD, to drive the family around and also for various professional work related functions. I'm focused on 100% OEM appearance/sound. That said, I happily run DP's on stock exhaust and get zero drone. It's slightly raspier, but in a very OEM+ kind of way. Not to mention that spool up is intoxicating vs OEM DP's.

And as others have mentioned, e85 and inlets may give you the extra bump in power you're in search of. Beyond that, you'll be limited on getting extra gains.

Anytime

Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions. And I finally read up on the rest of this thread, but get rid of the PE if you're trying to retain OEM/OEM+ appearances! That's an all show no go mod! I would much rather DP's + stock exhaust, since quicker spool and more power can be had
