Just something I learnt from the website you had posted.

Whilst I know they are one of the best tires - I wouldn't call them a fantastic all rounder. They are summer performance tires after all. Goodluck with driving with the same attitude in the wet as in the dry.
I've owned them for 3 sets on this car. I live in Florida. Smooth roads, standing water, 84 mph standard cruising speed. Never once hydroplaned/aquaplaned. Planted and firm in the wet. The only limiting factor in the rain is visability. I loose traction in my suv with more narrow PS A/S 3 tires on it. I can only surmise this is because it's the different dynamics of the card, not the tires. But they grip as well or better than all other tires I've has on it. Oem, bridgestone, continental, hankook, Dunlap. If you look at the chart, they're rated higher in the wet then pretty much everything else.

Lethal in the wet? That's a crock. Someone going from an A/S to max summer probably.

Yokos are good but pss better.

I am confused though - aren't they marketed as a summer tire? How comes they are such high performing in wet conditions

Btw are you going on sunday to Jasons?
Summer tire means temperature, not weather conditions. They perform best at Temps over 40F, 5C. Same as the GY tires in question. Below 40 they get hard and loose a good chunk of traction. They aren't meant for snow.

Tbh most tyres are not really winter orientated so summer marketing is as most really. They are a sport tyre so marketing for winter use and something happening opens up the claims court and hence the marketing as such.

Yup I'll be there on Sunday.
