Its always like that. every 6 months. Unless you pay every time its impossible to keep up.

I'm happy with my 1080. I got consistent 60 fps in 2560x1440 in Ghost Recon Wildlands. 4k is still a year or so away for me.

Yea my 1 year old MSI laptop with a GTX 9X series is useless now.
My desktop GTX1080 paired with my predator monitor /w 144hz is making me dizzy after a hr of play but other than that its blazing fast.

Not a huge fan of 4k yet. I agree will wait more.

That looks nice too. I'm drawn to the wrist support on the k70, as the early stage carpel tunnel is strong with this one

Price isn't as bad as I thought it would be. But yeah, I'd wait for the inevitable price gouging to die down a bit and for people to start pushing them. I'm stoked with this 1070; just started to OC it and the 6700k last night

Haven't messed with my 1080 yet. What core/mem are you running? Stable? Are you on a custom Vbios or using factory core clock limits?

I think the G910 comes with that included. One model up from mine.

IIRC, I got it to +145/400, or 2075/(forgot total mem). I used Afterburner, so nothing fancy. Ran it against Heaven on ultra. First time, so I'm a noob. Didn't mess with voltage. And yes, it's been stable thus far. Aside from Heaven, I played a bit of CSGO, but it was too late to put in extensive time.

So with the new 1080 ti announced when do you think I'll be able to grab one of the originals for $400? Right after the Ti is out?

Nice build but you're not utilizing the full potential with that 60hz monitor with no G-sync.
Also 7th Gen i7 kerby lake came out and skylake prices are dropping like flies.

I dont think it'll drop $200 that soon but it is currently priced edit: $100 less than the 1080ti will be next week so lets see what happens.

Right now its running my VR games and all the current AAA titles just fine so if it does go to $400 next week i'll probably still wait out a special deal or promo on it.

Might be worth checking out /r/hardwareswap too. A lot of people will be selling their 1080's for the upgrade, and parting out for Ryzen builds.

Edit: A like-new 1080 just went up for $450.

At the moment I'm not willing to spend $1000+ on a monitor. Which is what the cost would be for anything I'm interested in.

Not interested in upgrading my CPU since most of my time on my PC is gaming and I'd see no gains.

Why is IPS better than TN for gaming? TN panels have 1ms response time.

TN panels color reproductions are bad and will often look washed out. Color clarity and contrast is night and day with IPS. My predator response time might be 4ms but does not lag with G-sync and 144hz(can overclock to 165hz)

Exactly. I could never go back to a TN panel.
