go into the carly bt profile on your phone and disable the phone functions. that will allow the phone to connect the the car and the audio streaming to the carly device

Played back to back, I may as well not had my underseat woofers hooked up before. Clarity is similar to audio loaded on the car's hard drive. My iPhone 7 automatically connects to the MBT-RX when the car is turned on.

Unfortunately, my RTA app won't play out of bluetooth so I can't show a side by side comparison. As long as no issues show up in the next few weeks, I'll install it permanently in the console.

Current setup:
JL Audio MBT-RX $39.99 (Free Shipping, No Tax Collected in IL) http://www.jlaudio.com/mbt-rx-marine...receiver-91126
Cigarette Lighter Plug with LED $3.43 (Prime Shipping, No Tax Collected) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hometheatre 3.5mm Male to 2 RCA Female Splitter Cable (6-Inch) $4.26 (Prime Shipping, No Tax Collected in IL) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Total: $47.68 including taxes and shipping

Stereo Setup: Base iDrive -> In Amp DSP -> 2x75W RMS Hi-Fi Mids and Highs, 2x75W RMS MBQ Underseats, Stock Base Rears off HU
Nice setup. I too am happy with my low budget set up, the Kinivo BT450. I like with the Kinivo I have the external controller for pause/play, and next song without opening the phone up. Also aptx on the android.

What is the "In Amp DSP" that you refer to?

I use a discontinued Kenwood Excelon KAC-X4R (bought a second one after a great experience in my truck). It's a 75x4 Class D with onboard DSP, digital EQ, and even channel specific time delay. Tuned with an iPhone RTA app to line in to eliminate the base output issues.

I'm a little choked at the Carly "retrofit" that finally arrived today. They list different ones for different models of BMW, but they all look to be the same. Had they actually put a little effort into the wiring, so one didn't have to tap those wires, I'd be a lot more impressed. All they did was stick their damn sticker on it. Not against sharing "install tips" that look very much like the ones I was sent with purchase if someone wants to see them.

Wait, so can you both be connected to BMW BT (for handsfree phone calling) AND the Carly BT for AUX audio?

Ah, you know what, I've only been using my AUX BT player for a few days, I guess I haven't gotten a call yet during that time so I figured it wouldn't work.

I just ordered that Tunai device. Thing looks great and I love that it supports AAC.

I might be way off here but does anyone know if it would be possible to tap into the cd changer wires in the boot instead of the aux connection?

We know the cd changer can be controlled using the steering controls so could doing it this way allow us to control the bluetooth using the steering controls?

Is there anyone with actual "techy" knowledge who knows there stuff?

The cd changer operates over the most bus using fiberoptic signals. Only devices that emulate the cd changer such as a dension gateway 500s bt or a mobridge gateway device or one of there clones have the ability to do this.

I strongly not recommended the Carly bluetooth multimedia adapter. I have problems with the adapter, loses the signal every 5 minutes. Carly don t want to replace the adapter.
You can buy from China exactly same product much chipper.
