I'm pretty surprised as well. I went to about 10 companies for quotes too. Since I knew the volume would be low, I had to choose either 3D printing or CNC'ing. I feared 3D wouldn't be strong enough and at low volume it can be more expensive. That's why I went with CNC. Oh well. I tried.
