Howevr if just upgrading the software will not be advantages to power, or reliablilty, i guess we must all wait till the v2-v3 pnp is ready... whatare your thoughts on this
Yes, I asked the same thing earlier:

Will current V2 users be able to use the V3 maps without hardware changes, i.e. V3 wire pack.

I remember reading, from Shiv, that the software version of V3 would be able to be used without the hardware upgrades, but would not include all the features of V3. It would however include the PID control, thus having more stable boost, thus there would be an advantage in upgrading the software only.

Anyone? Shiv?

Found it:

We still have yet to finalize the mapping on v3. The software-only version of this map will be tackled right after that. Basically, it will enable the PID system we've developed. But without the extra I/O necessary that we use in v3, it will not have the same absurdly solid boost control. It will still be a step or two ahead of other options though.

Shiv

I'm guessing this will be in his post when he puts up the V3 maps.

So a car going from Stock to V3 and open-element filter should expect around 65hp and 70trq.

Does that sound about right?

Just up:
http://www.vishnutuningforum.com/for...read.php?t=408

Please note that these maps can only be used by those who have had their v3 (either PnP harness or v2->v3 udpate kit) installed by us. They cannot be used by current v2 users no matter how much you want it to. This is because these maps require the addition of TPS, Air Temp and Roadspeed input

v3 maps are up as of 20 minutes ago. Just in the process of writing instructions for new self-installed v3 PnP and v2->v3 upgrade kits. The site should be updated with order links within this week.

So does this mean you cracked Progman 29.2? You said you had to crack it before release so is that a valid assumption?

Getting around any diagnostic limitation is a lengthy process. Most of the time is spent testing and confirming that the problem is solved. Usually, the easiest part is actually solving the problem. Does that answer your question?
