And there are sooo many options on the website, dude. I'm just there scratching my head trying to figure my life out lol... I THINK I read quaife was the way to go in terms of keeping DTC functional, but even then, I'm sure theres pros and cons to going that specific route vs. another differential with dtc disabled
I didn't know that they didn't work with the DTC. But for me, I like the fact that the Wavetrac and other ATB diffs are basically maintenance free. I'm a set it and forget it type of guy.
See, I didn't even know that about wavetrac or ATB!
Thats good info..

Edit: Just hear-say, I'm sure... ollllld thread, and I cant honestly remember what was said in it verbatim..

I'm kinda the same, definitely enjoy the transmissions we have, for that reason alone. 10/10. Although, I dunno whats gonna happen next year.

I doubt the difference from 3.73 to 3.91 would be noticeable at all.

I averaged 19.5 mpg stock for my overall commuting. Now with MILV’s, tune, 3.73 diff, and all my mods and driving like a madman I’m getting 18.5mpg average.

^ It's not just MPG, though. Personally, I don't want to be cruising down the highway at 4000+ RPM. If you drive 70 mph, that's one thing. I'm not that guy.....

Also, Quaife is great. It's like Wavtrac.. soft feeling and maintenance free (unlike clutch-type 2/3 way LSDs). Closest thing to a "stock" LSD as far as feel and maintenance (minus the crappy one-tire-fire performance).

if the drone wasnt so nasty at 2.5k - 3k I think I'd drive like a normal person from time to time..

The only real drawback to my setup....

I don’t know how fast you drive but I’m doing 3750rpm at 90mph and would be doing about 3850-3900 at 90mph with 3.91.

If you drive 100mph then yes you will likely be over 4000rpms a lot.

These supercharger have a maximum rpm or 14,450.

At 7500 engine, you can only go 1.926 pulley ratio. It will be a dog, no boost below 3-4k.

Sweet! Definitely don't forget to swap out the plug that shipped with the unit with the vented dipstick as another fellow experienced.

Ahh that'll make it much cleaner/easier to change it out. I thought they used to suck the fluid out in those.

Heh thanks for the pic. I suppose it doesn't hike up as badly as I thought. But still, yeah, 90 is about where I cruise, and ~3900 is kinda steep. Then again, what's another 200-500 RPMs, really, right?

I got used to a high cruising highway engine speed in the M3, but I hauled ass through North Alabama. 4000 RPM doesn't feel quite as bad when 8000 is your redline. I try not to permanently cruise at higher than half of the engine's operating speeds. This is simply an OCD tactic and not grounded in any logic. So M3 idled at 1000, redline at 8000, that's 7000 working RPM, so 4500 crusing. 328 idles at 600, redline at 7000, so 3600 or 4000 rpm is as high as I would want to cruise.

Ironically enough, that's just about where I cruise (3.5k rpms give or take) in my 330i.
I feel you on the OCD thing though.

Hey there, just some suggestions;

1) I grabbed a random piece of plastic and fit it at the intake area just to block any potential ingress of water. The location wasn't that good ain't it? Too exposed to the elements.
I have tested it with or without this cover, no impact to the power.

2) These tubes will get expand and become a little loose after 4 months of usage, make sure you check it every now and then and retighten it if necessary.

3) Please remember to remove the shipping plug (that brass flat-top plug) and install the venting plug on the V3... don't make my mistake lol. I ended up having to replace shaft seal prematurely...

4) Make sure you can operate both the throttle and brake simultaneously after everything is done. You don't want to discover you can't h&t downshift AFTER you collect the car.

5) If you drive very hard on consecutive corners the venting plug will weep a little and you have to top up the supercharger fluid. It's a known issue but it may not happen to you; just check the V3 oil level every other week will be good?

Enjoy.

How many miles on your setup? Has it been reliable? Caused any related issues?

Done 20,000km so far, it's rock solid and have no issue apart from my own installation mistake causing me to replace shaft seal prematurely.

Well, the engine seems to be consuming more oil than before (when NA) possible due to blow-through, but then my engine has been driven hard for 200,000km so toping oil up is my usual routine anyway. Will probably get an engine rebuild and up the boost later next year.

I have thought of that but don't have the time do R&D lol, there is no readily available solution on the market.
Perhaps Noir can assist us and find a solution?

I don't see any way to relocation the filter to higher position? There is just no place for it. If you find any alternative solution let us know.
