Besides, why it is inconsiderate for people to get annoyed? You expect people to enjoy your screaming baby? If they sit there annoyed but don't say anything to you, why would it bother you if they cite crying babies as a source of annoyance on an internet forum?

As a parent, I take it in stride. A plane is a shared space and being around others requires a degree of understanding and cooperation. |

Perhaps tolerance is the word rather than considerate. I don't have any screaming kids but it annoys me when there is a crying baby and all the "adult" passengers start getting huffy. Just deal with it. |

Having to jerk off in a lavatory if the mood calls.
But seriously, the entire inefficiency of the process. Boarding is slow, taxiing to the runway is slow, then taxiing after landing takes forever, then opening the damn door. Also, baggage claim takes forever depending on the airport. |

Yeah I don't mind screaming/crying kids.
I mean it's annoying sure but I don't hold anything against the kids or their parents for it. It's just a part of life. It'd be selfish of me to expect them to just not travel anywhere ever simply because they have kids. |

I fly chicago-istanbul and back 4 times a year and honestly the part I hate is having to sit in recycled air for 9-10 hours at a time. my ass is pampered by the istanbul lounge and turkish airlines' awesome (and cute) flight crew so that's not bad; ohare needs to step up their lounge game though. for one of the busiest airports in the world, having such shit lounges that cater to a huge airline consortium (star alliance) feels simply unacceptable.
also this applies to every lounge i've been to - obnoxious "new money" people. i'm not expecting everyone to behave like we're in the 50s still but come on, don't think the shit you do will fly because you made a little money... |

I fly once every two weeks for work so I’ve learned to just ignore/let things go, but my list are:
- impatient people. Like come on everyone will get on. - smelly or dirty people. I’ve seen people who takes their shoes off as soon as they board the plane and then they go use the toilet with just their socks on, fucking nasty. - people who spreads their crap across multiple seats at the gate. Lucky I fly often enough to have lounge access and priority line so I don’t wait at the gate much now. - I also often get free upgrade into business class where I get my own pod. Been spoiled enough now that whenever I don’t get the upgrade I feel like a peasant in economy. |

How does one get free upgrades to business class? I've never flown anything other than economy. Waste of money. |

have you ever met someone who (clearly) recently got rich and therefore think money makes them a better person than anyone else? that kind of stuff.
to be more precise, i'm talking about the people who come over-dressed for a flight. the dudes usually are chill, but their wives are just disgusting. come to a flight in a suit? no one bats an eye, the dude might have a meeting or something. an international flight where you're dressed in a long dress and stilettos?? really?? or the whole "lets just take all this food because its free" mentality. its one thing to get enough food to not starve on the way to your destination, but it's another thing to carry around 3 plates and then do a second trip for drinks.... and the worst - treating the staff like ass. that is just unacceptable altogether imo but it just stands out so much more when you're stunting your wealth so much in an airport lounge. i dont know tbh maybe i'm too nitpicky and/or people are still in their undergrad mentalities "take as much free shit as possible" but it annoys me oh so much. |

Some, maybe most airline, have reward program where you get perks if you fly with them often. For example I only fly with Air Canada, and they have a reward program call Altitude. You automatically become a member of that program if you fly 25k, 35k, 50k, 75k or 100k miles a year. Obviously the 25k status won’t get as much perks as an 100k member. Last year I hit 75k so I get free lounge access, upto 3 free checked bags, priority boarding, and free upgrades. So any unsold premium or business seats will be given to status members, of course someone with a higher status than me will get it first. Overall I would say I get upgrade 7/10 flights. But my wife loves the free checked bags more than anything when we go on vacations lol

Cabin air is not recycled. A complete change of cabin air takes around 5 minutes in a modern aircraft. Air enters the cabin from cooled compressed air that is tapped from the engine intakes. Outflow valves are installed at the opposite end from where the cabin air enters the cabin so that cabin air is constantly purged. The outflow valves bleed the air back to atmosphere and regulate the cabin pressure in the process. Although the air is "dry" it is flowing through the cabin at a greater rate than most normal buildings... Hope that makes you feel better and cleaner on your next flight Slàinte Mhath Mark H

I'm the guy with the baby and small kids. My family lives half way round the world and mum is too ill to travel so i have to cart the whole brood over every year or so, it's just got to be done. We do our best, get compliments on our diligence but sometimes they just need to cry, fuck knows i feel like it after 16 hours in a plane and still 5 hours to go.

Opposite here! I'd done a trip to NY in mid 2011 into Economy and right into the middle where at least 7 childs and babies from probably 5 months up to 5 years. Aside from that constant screaming of the baby, the other were like high on octane and not to slow down. The cabin looked after they'd leaved like the playground at Ronald McDonalds when the 430th air brigade rushes through...no, no, NO!
The parents dont care and take the behaviour of their breed like daily dish. To be fair: Thats not the normal case on board and most accompanied kids are more exited but easy to get quiet down. Well, thats no solution for babies and the longer Im in the air, the less understanding I have for it and got just annoyed. Thats one of the price all have to pay since flying is effordable for everyone

^ Yes, there are exceptions to every rule but most of the behaviors that annoy me on flights come from adults. But even that it relatively small as I'm a pretty laid back flyer... And the two drinks in the bar before boarding help!

Samuel Jackson had an amazing movie called snakes in a plane…
Can you imagine a true A-list actor starring in a movie called toddlers on a plane…. |
