There should be a sub forum for movies and TV shows.

I thought ep 4 was lame. Just a rip-off of the magnificent seven.

I find it ironic that you chose a movie that's based on an earlier film, The Seven Samurai. Good stories deserve to be retold, modernized, adapted, I'm fine with them doing that with Mando.

I agree, but the "insert lead character here" who grudgingly saves the village is retold way to often. I hope next week is better.

That's gotta be 92% of every action movie. What do you want, droid porn? Isn't that WestWorld?

Just saw episode 5. Lots of Nostalgic scenes/sets from A new hope and familiar creatures. We are on tatoonie. Reminds me of Rogue One where everything has to be exactly from A New Hope as far as set and prop design, suits and space craft (x wing, ty fighters, storm troopers). Vs Force awakens where you factor in 30 years of progress and some wrecks lying in the desert that are 30 years old. (So storm troopers are slightly different as are x wings and tie fighters but still closely related (unlike the prequels where they are completely different but really shouldn't be)

Looks like episode 7 released early. Watching it later. Must be because of the movie. Looks like Gina Carano is back as is Carl Weathers and Werner Herzog. Supposed to be the best yet with season finale next week.

Thumbs up

All I can say.... Based on early reviews of Rise of Skywalker, they should have just let John Favreau from this series handle the film!

Agreed!

As I have mentioned previously I am a SW nerd of the first order having been 12 when it first came out and ROS was very moist to say the least.

FYI Spoiler alert if you haven't watched it yet.

Just watched episode 8. The dark saber is Disney's way of getting you to watch Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels while they finish filming season 2 as well as dropping a Clone Wars revival season in February. Moth Gideon is on point as is the droid sacrificing itself for baby Yoda. Hoping we don't have to wait an entire year for season 2.

This is a good synopsis as to how everything relates to the larger Star Wars universe/canon. Feel free to check it out after watching the episode. Gives good background info as well as the typical scene be scene synopsis
The url itself might be somewhat of a spoiler so I've added some space below

So I'm watching the animated series and the Mandos take their helmets off all the time. Not sure why they can't in the live action series. : maybe only the live action films are considered canon by Disney but there's some context gained by watching the animated series without expecting 100 percent consistency. The Mandalorian is rebooting canon to some degree. Though even in the original sequels there are inconsistencies.
