My interior lights blinkers and windows are now operational but when I started my car up it runs like shit. It ran smooth before frm swap now the car motor is loud and there seems to be some misfiring going on. All light on the dash are still present I assume I'd need to clear them before they turn off. Could disconnecting the battery have cause rough idle ? At least I can park my 300 in the garage now it's filthy from being outside. It had never slept outside since I owned it until this incident. I'm attempting to learn how to code the new module to the car now off to read and watch videos. I do need to save the original vo I think it's important to have so I'll try to figure out that next. I'm sure the car that the new frm is out of had more features than this one this one doesnt even have power seats. Gonna clear some codes and scan this thing it has a million codes in it and shitloads of warning lights

It was by the plugs on backside of the FRM and has some material wrapped around it with Velcro holding it on

Disconnecting battery will cause a dme adaptation reset, so it can technically you could see symptoms like that even though you'd probably have to have pre existing conditions like failing spark plugs prior. As for frm coding it's fairly simple. Change build date to 03/07, copy CAS Vehicle Order to NFRM and default code the NFRM.

Usually wires that are wrapped up are for options that are not installed.
US Cars made up till 2010 had pre wiring for most options.
Re scanning functional jobs and clearing codes is a good first step.

How do you copy CAS VO code to Frm?
Does NCSExpert know to do this when you select VO code Frm or is
there a different process.

There are so many guides on this.

The steps you should do is:

1. Update FRM2 with winkfp ( updates are good and this will also write correct vin to UIF)

2. With NCS and an expert / factory coding profile, copy CAS VO to your new NFRM (FRM2) - When you have loaded the profile choose CAS. Then in the main job screen select job - FA_WRITE and ECU - NFRM. Execute job.

3. Now default code the NFRM. As stated, go into the FA screen and remove your build date. It will be something like #0606 (car made in June 2006). Use the delete key to remove it from the list. Then add #0307 in its place.

Now go back and default code the NFRM. With the job SG_CODERIEN Do not permanently change the build date!

Open INPA and clear the codes. Done

I used Ista P to update my 2010 E90 using BG cable pro and power supply.
