I looked at DragTimes.com slips (and there's a lot of them), and most stock 350Z's seem to run in the mid-upper 13's @ 102-103mph vs. a stock 335i which runs 13.4sec @ 104-105mph.

I suppose after seeing the newer interior shots it does actually look pretty good. I wasnt implying it isnt ergonomic, because it is. But it just looked a little too complicated with lots of buttons.

Again looking at it now it doesnt have many more buttons than what rivals offer in interiors, and overall the interior tops them all!

+1 on weight saving. I wonder if Nissan will go with giving it a really powerful engine instead of focusing on weight saving like the GTR. Naturally, it could have lost a little weight because its shorter, if not I'm sure the weight distribution is improved at least.

wow...the interior is very nice. In fact, it looks nicer then the 3er.

Looks can be decieving though because I like the materials quality in my 3 much better then in the g37. That being said, Audi kills both in interior quality.

We're talking about a $30-35k base car, I doubt that's the GT-R DSG box, it's most likely the same 7 speed auto that they are adding to the G37 coupe/sedan for 09.

I know; that's why I highlighted the '07 350Z's 1/4 mi. runs as he pointed out in his post...and no, most are actually trapping 1-4mph lower than stock 335i's. Look at the ones that are in bold.

It looks like many get crappy 60ft. times too (>2.1-2.2 sec.).

I think the point that should be away is that a 45 minute install and $700 makes a 335i into a very fast 335i. Unfortunately there isn't a $700 mod for the Z that's going to give it nearly 100 crank horse power. Its just a fact. There is no need to get all upset over it. Let's not escalate it to the 2JZ is the best FTW debate

Seriously though, the new Z looks great but I hope its not as tight inside as the 350. I almost got an 08 but it was either the convertible or nothing since the roof on the coupe was touching my hair which was very annoying...

Interior always "looks" nice, but actual build quality has always been shoddy (at least in my opinion) compared to any luxury sport sedan. And of course this isn't surprising. I don't know about the 07+ Z, but the earlier ones are filled with cheap plastic interior and everything starts to rattle after a year or 2. But then again you are paying for performance, not luxury when it comes to the Z.

Just a heads up to those who never actually sat in a Z before. Looks nice, but feels cheap as hell compared to bmw interiors (again as expected when you consider costs).

i dont think people will deny that the Z is a more pure interpretation of a sports car than the 335i. i dont know why 335i owners insist they are equal to the Z4 or nissan Z cars. i bet you the 335i is faster around the track than a lotus elise but come on. lets not be daft about our luxury GT cars.
