btw what do you guys have the traction nanny set to? (%)
You can see the defaults by uploading the map file into the PROcede and then opening up your user adjustable parameter window. You'll see that 1st and 2nd gear torque (aka traction nanny) is set to a default of 100% in both gears

Shiv,

Lets cut to the chase..... Is this map faster than the old v3 map? If so, how much faster?

Adam-- Thanks for the info. I just changed the name of the user software-- got rid of the period that seems to be confusing things.

Shiv,

Sorry, repost from above, but I do think this would be a cool, and usefull feature.

*****

I was just reading in Car & Driver that the new version of On Star can remotely slow the car down if it's stolen. It got me thinking, what's the slowest speed you could allow us to set the new valet parameter at? Currently its 32mph, but if you could set it at 0mph, then the car would basically be theft-proof; especially if you only switched maps with the key fob!? Even for those using the Home-link switching or the new Rix boost guage map switching, it would take a pretty knowledgable thief to know how to switch maps.

You could then program map 1 to be the wife/valet map, with stock power, and map 2 to be full power. Can you actually set map 1 to be lower than stock power, say 50%, and/or give us the ability to limit the speed in that map too in a future update?

That's all do-able I think. I was looking at another way to create an anti-theft map but I think I like your suggestion the best. I don't know if i can drop the speedlimit 0mph. But I could probably get it as low as 2-3mph which would not make it a very quick getaway car I'll put that on the list of things to try next. Thanks for the suggestion!

Could you possibly set up a user parameter where the input is octane, which would automatically adjust the torque setting for maximum safe boost based upon IAT?

While it will be several days until I get back in town from vacation and can test, what is with the change to rar files? Yes, I can open them and extract just fine but was curious about the change to different compression methods.

These are not large files which need mega compression. In addition, they are designed for WinOS which supports standard zip compression inherently. This requires the installation of 3rd party decomprssion tools which just throws another wrench into the sometimes confused users. Just a thought...

took a bit of head scratching on my end to figure out the zip files, but I got it. Might have been easier if I would have read this entire thread!

So far no problems at all. Put map 1 to 0% tq values and have not seen over 10.1psi, map 2 to 85% and its a bullet.

nice.

On my end, with XP Professional, I was able to extract, on the first try, using the native WinZip app, without any of the issues others are describing (pic attached).

Is this a Vista anomaly only? Weird

Interesting, perhaps an extension was installed on your PC. I am running XP Pro SP3 and the native interface failed. I do have 7-Zip installed for RAR files though so had nop problem with that.

When I unzipped the procede reader 3.1, and tried to run it. An error window came up and told me that it was unable to locate component, so do I have to be online with the procede before that works? Meaning, have the procede plugged into the serial port and with the car on?

thanks

Right, when you unzip Pde_reader v3.1beta1.zip, you extract one file: Pde_reader v3.1beta1.exe

Now, per the picture below, drag that file you just extracted, Pde_reader v3.1beta1.exe to the folder where you have installed the v2 Procede software.

Most likely, per the pic, this will be at C:\Program Files\Procede\Pde_Reader_v2_0 in your file structure.

See the pic.

Once Pde_reader v3.1beta1.exe is in the same location as the v2 Procede software executable, it will work fine, and not give you the missing .dll error.

Hope this explains it

Weird. Perhaps. I, too, have XP Pro SP3. I extracted using WinRar as a double check. This also worked.

So lets say I'm cruising along at 80mph and I drop the hammer.
The wastegate DC limit kicks in throwing the car into valet mode.
I have the valet speed limit set at 35mph.

Does the car close the throttle until my speed slows to 35mph?

ok ok.. but it seems like it's an issue that is not directly related to the v3.1 sw. it's more on the user end. anyways good luck.

Am I understand this correctly?? If I have the Valet Mode set to "ON". Each time when the car start, it runs like stock. By pressing the ON button on the keyfob, it will activate the performance map 1 and 2. Then press ON again on the keyfob to activate map 2?? Press OFF on the keyfob will change to map 1??
