This is a bit of a technicality, but if you are getting a vet or college grad rebate then you are still essentially at MSRP. I'm only pointing this out because it isn't a dealer discount.

This is only important because I don't want the average person to think that all of these dealerships are offering a 500 or 1,000 discount so all you have to do is ask for it. The dealership is giving up nothing. They aren't doing it because they love vets or college grads. They get the money back from BMW NA so there is zero reason not to. The dealerships are getting their full profit.

That being said, I have already had members here say their dealers told them there was no vet discount. If a dealer says that then that CA is just misinformed. Message me and I'll try to help you through it.

Edit: this is for the US market only.

Don’t pay the markup. Because there are no markups on the used market. I payed MSRP 72k and thought it was a deal… including ceramic coating … car has a nine hundred miles on it (hardly driven… just enough to keep fresh gas in it every month) and I’m only being offered 60k private …not trade. Loaded carbon fiber z blue automatic no different than new. Everyone wants Kia prices… better off getting EV and 7500 off rebate. If you want a 2024 on the lot here there’s 10 k markup on it to start … that’s right now January 2024. Bring it back next day to trade… 10k below msrp. Go figure….

Heh… I would try to get another 10 percent off… Im selling my M2 2023 late with 920 miles on it for 59k… best offer I got. Good luck… automatic a z blue loaded. Showroom new with all protection film and still smells new. That’s ordered though… not one on the lot. I did the same thing. Lol it’ll lose another 10k next year …. according to the amortization value of this car over
time.

Private party retail is 60k for this car condition and mileage and 55k trade in value on edmunds. I don’t know how the dealer is selling an exact one like mine for 69.9k manual more miles and mine is auto carbon fiber roof and package and I can’t even get 60k ?

**Update A Dealer calls me and offers 62k! At the same time he has this prospect (out of state) looking for one like mine and is telling hime 69900! LOL... seriously!

Yep, the dealership / steelership is always playing games with prices adjustments. It's a slimy game they often play. You just have to work with the right person at the right time & be extra careful before you pony up.

The used car market is broken rn. A 4 yo base subaru imprezza with 100k miles sells for $15k, yet you can buy a new one for $22k?

It's not just limited to BMWs. There's dealer stock of C8 Corvettes at the largest Corvette dealers now:

The forthcoming discounts on C8s will apply pricing pressure to BMW M cars soon.

Thats always kinda been the case with the Impreza though. They (for some reason) hold their value incredibly well. I remember my friend bought a 2015 WRX for 25k. And traded it in to a dealership in 2017 for 24k. It was his daily driver and he had about 25k miles on it.

Hell i remember when i was looking to buy a second car, i saw a 2013 STI Hatchback on the lot. This was 2017. It was being sold for 31k and sold the next day. Hell those prices havnt even changed much, if you look at the used market right now its about the same.

I didn't pay markup but I did put a ceramic coating on the car $2500.00 (not BMW).

Yeah… that’s why a few of them were shot point blank in their office in Southern California… what good is profit if you’re dead or they drove their car through the dealership. Don’t forget… people are very trigger happy these days and a lot of gang bangers out there. Scary… I keep to myself on the road and don’t make any one finger salutes or gestures to piss someone off. Think I’m exaggerating… guy was shot dead at rest stop just for turning on his wipers spraying a bmw in back of him for tail gating… or jus passing by… story differs. It’s on Google.

Look it up. Don’t be a bad ass on the road … move over and pay no mind. my bad… times have changed people.

The M2 is a hot car. But don't pay that ludicrous ADM. Gladly walk over to another dealership thats not trying to take advantage of you. This guy has some good points he discusses in simple terms & he's right about cheaper labor rates in Mexico. Regardless of who just built a nice state of the art plant there. Hint hint...

I unfortunately did pay a small adjustment ($3000), but this was last April and it was my dealers HEA car. Got it the day after it arrived. First one in my area for a while. (Southeastern VA).

I just got mine (2024 model) two days ago for MSRP in the San Francisco Bay Area. They had about $1400 dealer-added protection stuff and it was pretty painless to get them to take it off, basically no haggling at all.

I’m looking in the Bay Area soon. Which dealer did you go to? Have a feeling I might have to expand my search to SoCal.

I’m in the Bay Area as well and I got $1k off MSRP. Also got them to remove the $1400 worth of add-ons that they originally told me were mandatory.

Sweet! I just need to sell my current daily driver and I'll be buying here in the Bay Area as well. Which dealer did you go to? Do you recommend the salesman?

I had a new 2024 ZB auto negotiated to a $6,200 discount in the Bay Area (Sacramento). I definitely wouldn’t pay MSRP for these right now.

BMW of Mountain View? I got mine there, but yours is obviously a better deal.

Holy moly. Good work. I don’t understand why people are paying msrp these days. The price between a G87 and used F87 doesn’t make sense.

Do you mind me asking what was the MSRP of your car or what percentage off were you able to get?

Id appreciate it, if possible.
