I wasn't aware of that, my fault. We'll have to see where things go! For now, I will certainly be focusing on the Procede because that's where I have the experience.

Some comments:
1. I use an HTC WM6 phone and wifi tends to be highly power taxing on the battery of the phone. Would you consider trying Bluetooth? 2. The iPhone is terrible with multitasking software. Any way you could 'lock' the software to dedicate the phone to just running itself? 3. It seems like you'll be using the same concept as Rev to communicate to the hardware. But their CANbus to Wifi adapter is expensive! I hope it is no where near that pricey.

2. I'm not sure what you mean. The iPhone can't multitask, at least not unless you're jailbroken. It will only run one app at a time. 3. A similar concept, yes. Again I don't want to make promises I can't keep but the plan is to make the whole setup as cheap as possible! Hope that helps! Dan

Regarding question 2, I'll give an example: let's say you're data logging and all of the sudden someone decides to call you. It would most likely close the app and bring the phone app up, correct? Unless you know how to disable the phone part without taking out the sim card (the only option I have found).

and if you really REALLY wanna be fancy, you could add a bluetooth connection there, using the SPP profile to convert the bluetooth request to serial commands back and forth, and you can have it all done wirelessly! the sky is the limit on how far you wanna go.

Doing WM6 is a good idea..especially since it may be the easier task. Most people still don't have the iphone, at least until Verizon comes into the picture. Even though I don't have a tune, just trying to be logical...I would never switch to ATT reception just to get an iphone. I tried it...outside of nyc metro...where I travel only Verizon works.

I just got the BT data tool and if you added a Bluetooth USB connector and used iPhone 3.0 as the reader based on what BT software does you'd have one hell of a tool. |

Unfortunately, no, I've been absolutely SWAMPED with work recently and probably will be for another week, then I can get to working on this. Just need to find the time. Perhaps, but for starters it will be Procede only.
