DP-back exhaust ideas :

2x 2.5 or 2.75 inch pipes

The front section (where it mates to the down pipes) would be a detachable 1.5 foot section.

In this section, you would have either an HFC, or a 'test pipe'.

You could sell the same exhaust, and just pair the proper front section depending on whether or not the user wants cats.

Also, then the user would be able to swap cats with a test pipe at will for inspection, etc.

As far as materials go, I'm agnostic so long as it doesn't rust.

I prefer single tips with a 'y' attachment tip for people who want twins.
(I like real tips, 1 per pipe... it's just a personal thing)

Technically, you could have the mufflers themselves be bolted on for people who want to use another test-pipe to replace the mufflers.

+1, sounds like a good way to go. I would love an easy and fast way to take on and off my cats.

First on my list would be a quality dual for closer to $900-1,000 instead of $1800+. Needs to sound good and if you're going to worry about cosmetics, worry about the tips. I don't need polished stainless for something that goes under the car.

FMIC for around $500 would be nice, having a second oil cooler add-on too.

i have the vk downpipes on order - would love a matching downpipe back exhaust system - but it needs to be quiet....

i love the hks system (quiet, flanges, very well made) but good lord it is expensive....

i don't need polished mufflers or pipe - just mandrel bent pipe and a quiet system...

resonators in place of the secondary cats would be nice - keeps things looking legit...

+2 I'm a big fan of the AMS design though the price is a put off. $1k for a similar system would attract my check book. I'd say do DP back, don't bother with the secondary cats.

A properly designed intake is sorely missing from the market and no one wants to take action. A RAM-air intake similar to the one from Gruppe M but at a much lower price would be killer.

If you want a cheap Gruppe M, all you need is a new air-box replacement.
Just something that uses a straight-flowing setup (no more U shaped airflow) with a better filter.

Resonated mid pipes or muffler axle back would work. Either way they dont have to be polished except tips.
