YES that is a great price. MSRP for that config is just under $43K here in the states.

I paid a little less than you but only got sport package, metallic paint and satellite prep... Good work!

I'm one of the dumb one that paying MSRP, But atleast I getting more on my trade-in ( which would be around $1500 off the list + tax difference). Also one of my wife friend walk out of a deal where she was getting $1700 off(she wanted 2K off)

I got $1100 off MSRP and free black carpet mat.
Guess it's not that much comparing other people here, but not too bad either.

BMW assist is very easy to disable, say by removing the fuse or breaking off the antenna.

I had assumed it's a typo. Under invoice? Cosmosblau probably meant $1000 over invoice, either that or $1000 under MSRP.

I just started talking to my dealer about ed and he gave me this price: "European Invoice + 3% + Mats ($100) + State and Shop Inspection ($100) + Wash/Wax ($50)...To this we would add Doc Fee ($398) + DMV Fee ($62) + 3% Highway Use Tax for a
total, out the door price."
...Is this a good price? What is the 3% highway use tax? Also anyone else have to pay these other fees(doc fee?)? If I should try for lower where should I aim for?
Also if it helps, I am looking to get a 325i w/ beige leatherette, nav./idrive, power seats, maybe comfort access if it is available. Also I'm in Raleigh, NC.
Thanks!

Wow, that looks like a lot of dealer "pocket padding fees". The 3% over invoice is good, but starting with your inspection fee of $100, it looks a little sketchy. NC has a great sales tax of 3%, so I don't know if they try to make up for it in other taxes, but I have never heard of a Highway Use tax. A document fee of $398 is outrageous. For me, documenation fee is $50, inspection is $22, license is $61, title is $33. And that's it (other than the 6.25% sales tax in Texas).

Others, if you don't mind, please post your various fees and taxes in detail. I'm sure I'm not the only one curious to find out. Thanks.

I wonder if Highway Use tax= sales tax? Ill have to ask tomorrow. I thought some of these fees looked a little high. Especially the doc fee, and them waxing my brand new paint job seems a little unnecessary.
Thanks for you help redstripe.

We shook hands, I handed over the credit card and placed a $500 deposit. Probably one of the most enjoyable negotiations I've ever had.

After checking on Edmunds.com with options, this price works out to be $2250 above invoice. There may be better deals out there, but I think this was fair for a car that was just recently released.

What a great attitude to have. Mine stickered out at $32,090. That's a 325i with SIRIUS and Heated Front Seats as the only cost-increasing options. Got it for $30,486, so about $1600 off. I felt that was VERY fair considering a brand new model that isn't even building up lot inventory.

The cars in the US and Germany are so cheap in comparison with the Netherlands..
My dad ordered a 320d with:
-xenon
-lowered suspension
-17"
-automatic airco
-professional audio
-sport seats
-SG
-automatic
and some other stuff for +/- 55.000 euro..
That is without leather, iDrive, sunroof, 18", hifi, etc.
A full option 330i (leather, iDrive, 18", auto etc) costs in Holland about 65000 euro.. That is over 80.000 dollars!!

Is $1200 off MSRP a good deal?

$1200 off MSRP of $34870 for a 325 SG, cold weather package, sport package, xenon lights, metallic paint. (Invoice price of $31280)

I will be trading in my 2000 VW golf GTI GLX VR6. The dealer quoted me $8200 for the trade-in.

Should I take the offer?

You guys have it so good in the states. I have just ordered for August delivery into Aus, a 325i SG/leather/s-roof/logic7/161 wheels/step trans. The invoice cost is $AUD 89,500 current exchange rate, today $AUD = $USD0.7645. So I wish I was paying your prices, the 3 series is in the luxury car range here in Aus and we are also heavily taxed for cars over $AUD54,900.

I haven't closed the deal yet, just placed an order, but so far we are at $1500.00 above invoice. I hope to get more off but if not, I will accept the current number. This is for a 330i with manual, metallic, leather, sport and sunshade.
