Absolutely, in fact - it embraces them.

On MT cars. My AT shifts normally at ~6900RPM. Speed limiter removed.

Updated the first post with an entry today:
Captain's Log 12/23/2009 The more I test the GIAC Stage 1, the more impressed I am. I did a little "track testing" in a corporate parking lot at 5:00am and it is a world of difference. In a straight line, the differences between the Piggybacks and the Flash are less evident after both have reached wide open throttle. However, during normal driving and especially during spirited track driving with turns where you have to be constantly applying various degrees of throttle and you have to come on and off power, the differences are huge. The piggybacks tend to have less control which can cause either too much or too little power in the turns (frustrating or scarry). With the flash, I have complete and total control. This thing makes me not envy the naturally aspirated M3s which have instant and controllable power. The other big difference that I already spoke about is the lack of bog when shifting. The solutions offered by the JB3 and the Procede are decent when they work, but I find that they are hit or miss (at least for me)... I have yet to miss the perfect shift with the GIAC. As I said before, I have no affiliations and paid full price, so I say this just to give back to the forum community and to do you guys a favor: Piggybacks are great alternatives and have served many of us well. You can't beat the JB3's price for the power, features and support. But if you are willing to live with the lack of flexibility inherent to the flashes and can spend a little more money, then I highly recommend that you skip all the tunes that I have been through and go straight to the GIAC. The flash is in another league. It is just that remarkable and I can wait for Stage 2!!! More logs to follow... |

You need to team up with someone that has the ProC v4 for comparison.

Boost targeting sounds interesting in Procede V4 but the timing tables in the Flash are there by design. There is not a system trying to actively trick them one way or another.
I can't explain it but the car just feels like its not struggling at all to put out all the power. It all seems so smooth, efficient and effortless... |

I agree with everything Kelvin is reporting. I've had my GIAC stage 1 tune for about a month now and it's just fantastic. I really don't think I'll be going for a stage 2 because I'm so satisfied with stage 1 and I really don't see being able to use the extra power often enough and stage 1 is plenty powerful enough for me. The tune is so smooth it feels totally like an OEM BMW - just with a lot more power. I think my car actually runs smoother than it did with the factory software in all situations.

Kelvin what peak/sustained/redline boost you're seeing in what temps? (With BT if possible) Curious since you have the S1 and bolt-ons. Thanks!

I feel like there is a point where the power could keep going but it holds steady instead. I guess that's what stage 2 is for... |

If for any reason you have to go back to a stock flash, will the GIAC dealer flash you back to stock, then flash back the GIAC 1 for free?
