quaife offers a lsd for the dct, wavetrac doesn't. changing pumpkin would mean a big change in final drive which I do not want.

yup, these are mph. 2nd is ok, sure, but 4th and higher are getting too short IMO. With a M this would be nice, as the power band is much smaller, with a 335i with all the torque I do not see the point. (as my car is mainly daily driving, not tracking) Driving on the German highway hitting almost the speed limiter in 7th gear...

update. After evaluation of the Quaife and the Drexler LSD I decided to go for the Drexler LSD. Order is placed today. Quaife was more expensive here in Switzerland the one from Drexler, which is crazy, especially when you compare this to the prices from Birds. I also checked to order directly at Birds at arrange the install, but this got really complicated. My dealer give me a quote to do the built in / out, but after asking them again this quote of 400-450 euro was only to built in / out the pumpkin. The could not build in the diff. At that point I gave up.
I have a good shop next to the ring who will arrange the Drexler install. They will straight away install the M3 rubber mounts for the rear axle (good to combine this in one go) and the M3 strut brace. I am now discussing with them what king of set-up of I want, as Drexler customizes the LSD to your need. If anybody has suggestions...? Cannot wait till April |

For me the gears would be too short with a 3.08 gearset, especially as I use it as a daily driver. With the 7 gears, the gears are already shorter then with a 6AT or manual. See the impact on the speed (mph) in an earlier post in this thread.

there are several threads about this. The 4 rubber mounts of the rear axle carier of the 335i are quite soft. The ones of the M3 are much firmer resulting in a more settled rearend.
See part number 2 and 3 in the link below. http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E9..._axle_carrier/ |

So, 3.46 would be the best combination with Quaife? Is that true that only Quaife LSD is available for DCT drive? |

Quaife offers something for the DCT, Wavetrac not (yet). Drexler offers also a LSD for the 335i DCT. |

Cool and thanks for your reply. So, you mean 2.56 is the stock's gearset, right? Dexler seem quite expensive than Drexler, and according to Mr.5's Wavetrac istallation thread, I believe my garage can clearly know how to remove and install the LSD here in Hong Kong. |
