It's basically free, just download and burn. If you want to use the logging/tuning/map loading stuff, you need a G3 board and JB3 tuning cable. Tuning cable will retail for $35 and G3 board for $65 + exchange. If you bought your JB3 in the past few months it already has a G3 board.

Serious as a heart-attack.
I've sent a few BT logs on map7 over to Terry and he tells me it's working. Some cars take on certain maps better than others, what works with one may not work for another.

Are you running with a FMIC or downpipes. I have toyed with the idea of trying map 7 (JB3 1.4) with just the DCI and 93 octane. Some say go for it and others advise against it. If you are running problem free on 91octane with no FMIC, it gives me a bit more food for thought.

I have downpipes , DCI, and airscoops. If you have a bt cable I say go for it. Send some logs over to Terry for him to look at.

I do not have a chip burner and currently have JB3 v1.4. I probably have a Gen3 board (it has a DB9 connector at the bottom and was purchased a couple of months ago.)

Can I simple purchase a v2.0 chip from BMS in the future to upgrade?? Is there a waiting list I can get on once v2.0 is offically released?

im pretty sure you can purchase a chip burner with 2.0 on it, or find someone with a burner. but all the user adjustables need a BMS cable. Once its released that is..

For the G3 board upgrades BMS will load the appropriate firmware before shipping.

I have a BT cable. So I just pug her in and run Map 7 while data logging? I'll have to learn how to use the logging feature. If you have a link to the "How to" I'd appreciate it.

I was on Map 7 for about 6 months constantly on 91 octane. Never had a problem or a code with it. I got Dp's, DCI, JB3 1.41, Forge DV's. No FMIC yet, but soon. Car was very fast and worked fine. I could definitely feel the differenc eon higher octane however.

Recently I decided to try a different map just for the hell of it so I went to Map 5. For some reason it felt faster than Map 7. Either I was too used to Map 7 or Map 5 was more suited to my mods and thats why my car acted and felt better and faster. I am sticking with Map 5 for now. Will try 7 again when i get my FMIC

Map 5 will perform much better than map 7 on 91 octane because you will be pulling timing like mad especially as the IATs rise with your stock IC. Boost will decay as a result as well and overall you will loose power. The ECU will adapt to protect the engine. Map 7 on 93 will still only be marginally better than Map 5 as things heat up, but will feel stronger. 100 octane, well that's a different story. Map 7 FTW until IC heat soak. No tune can escape this.

IMO, I would run map 3 (2.0 beta) on 91 for daily driving unless it is really cool outside or run a custom 2.0 map with a lower max boost target. Hey, I'm conservative though compared to some.
