Kinda late on the thread, but just took some pics of my SG w/ black rims this afternoon. took it on an iphone so pic quality isnt the greatest. tried to adjust the quality but it came out crappy and pretty much lost interest fixing it. lol

As I said on da udder tread...
Gunmetal FTW . Silver is safe and the right rims can look really good. Black with polished lip is OK but kinda predictable. Personally, not into all black rims on SG. Gold with polished lip would be interesting*, especially if you had saddle or beige interior. (*Somebody on this forum had something like this-> Here ya go: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...+graphite+gold ) Me, I'm a silver car with silver wheels kinda guy... and SG with gunmetal is the two-steps-closer-to-murdered version.

silver works best imho. clean, classic, and offers good contrast.
i also like gunmetal (darker shades would be better) and black. i'm not a fan of hyper black on sg though.

The polished lip with black is very nice, but you're right on the predictability and I don't think it goes best with SGM.

Again, E92s have the proper look for those kinds of wheels. Quote:

Attention all: It is going to be a VMR wheel, V710 or V701, gunmetal powdercoated. It may be a couple months before I get them though (gloss black trim/grilles first to complement the look), but in time for spring I'll just use this thread to post the pics.

Hey Bavarian III,
V710 are nice. I've been considering Gunmetal Forgestar F14s in 18x8.5 and 18x10. They are A LOT lighter than stock and have just a little more meat on the spokes than the V710s. The price is pretty good as well. I like the 18x10s because I really want 275s in the back. Definitely something to look into. Good choice on the color! I had Sparkling Gunmetal BBS wheels on my Gunmetal '06 EVO IX MR SE. BADA** wheel and color combo imho.

good choice with the VMRs i just got silver v710s and i love them, i have a sliver car but suprisingly they look good on it. i may end up powdercoating black with a silver time attack though

And yeah, I thought for a while about the color combo. Didn't want to get anything that I knew would probably look different after they were put on, so I asked my very supportive e90post community to provide all pics/all color combos possible and they have answered. I really, really liked the concavity of the V710s more than the V718s and other CSL reps, and figured they'd bring out the muscular stance of the sedan more so in a darker color, especially with the base color of the car being a dark, metallic gray And they are "easier" on the wallet than, say, some BBS LM's or something. And 275s? Whoa Quote:
But that powdercoated black with silver time attack would look ridiculous. I'm picturing it now. Stuff like that makes me want an E92, sometimes The shape of it is just very nice, and I love the way the taillights look at night.

Not that I enjoy helping one vendor over another, but mod bargains is the only vendor with 18" in this wheel. Some say 18's look too small on an E90, but I'm more than a little concerned with ride comfort as my E90 is my daily driver.
Enjoy. http://www.**********s.com/_e/Wheels...8x10_18x11.htm

I've always liked hyperblack or silver LC Dynas on SG E90s. IMO you need to make sure your window trim and grills are black (blacklines for E90) to pull of a more aggressive color like h/b - a drop never hurts either. Silver CSLs are classic.

The silver color offered by BBS on the BBS CH's look amazing on SGM e90s. I know someone had pics of em up somewhere... forget where though... It might be in the e90 wheels thread found here...
