40 hp gain from an exhaust? I think I'm not doubting the quality of your work RPI but that's a little much without a 3rd party review IMO.

Don't you guys visit the other N54 forums? They tried to pull this stunt on the 135i and finally admitted they was running ESS along with the exhaust to get the 40whp increase.

They just stated that the exhaust gained 40whp ontop of the tune not the tune+exhaust gave 40whp. Still I am only going to be a believer when I see good hard data from a 3rd party. One other thing is that if this exhaust is so fine tuned to the gas velocity and etc. When you add catless downpipes this is going to increase exhaust velocity through the rest of the exhaust therefore messing up the gains. You cant say its perfectly tuned for stock and then say it will be just as good with downpipes because your exhaust flow characteristics will change. Just my 2 cents

They don't make an E90 version so there was no point in me going over today with my stock E90. I'm not about to let someone make an E92 exhaust fit. If it's not made for the car out of the box I'm not interested end of story.

what do you mean, it should fit fine, i just think just your tailpipes will stick out a lil further..

Since I read they couldn't post anymore I lost interest in the thread... If the glove don't fit... Anyway, hopefully someone (local to RPi) on here gets a hold of their exhaust and does a true independent dyno, and then we can put this baby to bed, so to speak. Until then, this thread should be closed as it serves no purpose anymore...

There are tons of SoCal people viewing this thread and yet no one has gone out to RPI. Continuous bashing of RPI and asking questions really does serve no purpose. Like I mentioned many times, why dont we all just wait until someone gets a chance to go by. Until then dont buy the exhaust if you dont like it, simple as that. If I had a 335i I would already be at RPI with an HD camera in hand. Someone needs to jump on this and get a free dyno and put all this argument to rest.

They stated that they gained 32 hp completely stock and 40+ with a tune....With that said, I still find it hard to believe that 32hp can be gained from just a catback for a 335...I don't know much about the 135i though?

i wouldn't expect the results to be much different on 135

Because I dont like piggybacks. Why not just do a real tune on the DME? Im very happy with the ESS tune on my car and I will run it on the dyno against anyone with a piggy back on their car with similar mods. I have already offered to do 10-15 back to back pulls with my car and a piggyback car and if I lose, I will pay for the dyno session and I will buy you lunch.

Ok sorry if I seem a little impatient sometimes. Its just that I go through this over and over again with different forums and in the end its always the same result. So, please read this before posting other type of arguments. Either put up or say nothing at all because its going to be a never ending argument until someone humiliates you.

AGAIN. The car has my scoops on it. OK. AJ and Roman from ESS came here and tuned the car. OK. I made an exhaust (different prototypes with dynos) and here is my dyno sheet. It did gain 40+hp but also dropped on the top end because the tune was not made for this new exhaust. The reason their is a big jump in the midrange is because of the exhaust design. The turbos spool up so quickly that in the higher rpm range, they simply just run out of breath or efficiency.

RPI, here is some advice, as I have a marketing background...

Firstly, Honesty goes a lot farther, secondly, the craftsmanship and look appeal of your exhausts seem nice. <--- incase you havnt noticed most people dont expect too much gain from their exhausts, most people on here care about sound and look. I didnt need my degree to figure that out either.

We arent 2nd graders here... we know dyno numbers are always fudged with. Its been common practice ever since the internet and forums exisisted.

AEM can come in here telling me they made an intake that makes 30HP and I will laugh in their face too.

Just sell your products as is. Quit trying to play games, you will get farther instead of having your name spread as a scam artist.

As you can tell a lot here, the friendly vendors, you know the ones that dont call out other members and disrespect them, tend to do a lot better, especially the ones that dont lie to us. Write that down.

See that wasn't so difficult... If they had said that from the get go, there wouldn't have been two threads that wasted everyones time, when they simply could have admitted a tune was involved... NOW how about some true stock dyno numbers?!? Even if the gain is between 10-20hp, that's still pretty damn good... But what do I know... Someone on the West Coast needs to visit them with a totally stock car and get Dyno'd, so we can see the true gain...

Its basic douchebaggery to blatantly lie about the variables of a dyno test since so many are already parading around with -- for one reason or another -- inaccurate dyno sheets. Its fully-saturated douchebaggery to try to back up the spewed bs with a dyno challenge after denying the reality presented by people that can't be fooled by douchebag sales tactics (and/or true ignorance).
