I also zip tied my brake wear sensor in the rt rear and the squeak noise is still there. I'm going to do the front as well to be sure it's not the front that's causing the noise. I think it could also be caused by the e brake dragging at take off. Anyone have experience with e brake adjustment?

Fairly positive it's not the e-brake... Pulling the brake up slowed the car but didn't effect the squeal.

I get this crap too, but it happens between 10-25mph. Any slower and it makes no noise and any faster it makes no noise. I notice it the most in my parking garage when traveling up to my level, making only left turns. I'm gonna have my SA look into it when I take my car in for service next week. I will post up my results as well.

Glad i found this thread, my 335d with just 10k miles is already experiencing this squeaky noise. I thought it was related to the suspension, but looks like its the rear brakes... Maybe I'll see if they can replace it for me when I'm due for an oil change.

if anyone DOES get results from their dealer, please post results
I am disappointed at the dealers who wouldn't help some of these customers out

SIB
"New" owner of a 2007 CPO 335i sedan (27500 miles) and I was having this issue as well. Thanks to this forum/thread (SIB# and Metro's invoice) I am having this work performed at the dealer. Will let everyone know if this addresses the issue. Dealer is also performing an oil change and has fixed an issue with the BMW Assist module (it was not working). My loaner in the interim is a 2011 328i that only had 7 miles on the odometer.
The dealer is Crevier BMW in Santa Ana, CA and so far they have exceeded my expectations from sales, parts and now service. Sonny is my SA and Roger is the service manager. Both of them were easy to deal with. |

nice they disregarded the service bulletin. But charged me $64 bucks to clean the brakes as lots of dust is "caked" on all 4 brakes. What do you guys think? They said they didnt find anything wrong with the sensors.

gave them the PUMA case number but didnt trust it. They want to follow the "protocol" and see if cleaning works. otherwise will file another PUMA case. this blows. I will report back once I get my car back.

So I had the same problem, my brake squeaks and it was embarrassing. When I first drive the car, its fine, then after 5-7 miles of driving it starts to making a hissing sound & squeaks. So I went to my local dealer, they change my rear disc. Nothing change same squeaking sound. I went again, they said my caliper was missing, replaced. Nothing change, same squeaking sound. I went again, to get oil change and have it check again, they said that they don’t hear anything so they can’t change anything at the moment. So I went again and mention I been in here for the past 4 Saturday morning, the SA told me, I’ll do my best and keep trying don’t give up. So finally got my car back, they change the front rear, disc, pads, and sensor. 4 days driving now and my car does no longer hiss or squeaks. It’s took me 4-5 Saturday morning to finally get it fix. Basically, the people at the dealership knew who I was and recognized me every time I was in there. But I’m happy now, car no longer squeaks and I get my Saturday morning back, back to sleeping in. I just hope that sound don’t come back one month later, like how other members were mentioning….

From what I've gathered, it seems like the best fix as of right now is a pad, rotor and sensor change for the front and rear. The car has already changed pads and sensors (F/R) but not the rotors. I am going to try and get the rotors replaced. I'll report back when it's finished.

I went to Shelly BMW in Buena Park. Yes, best bet is to change everything. They have to hear the squeak in order for them to fix so make sure you drive the car for a bit before you head there. Last edited by vietmike101; 08-25-2010 at 05:24 PM.. |

As mentioned before, front and rear brake pads and sensors were changed previously, but 4-6 weeks later the squeaking came back. To make a long story short, they replaced the rear pads and sensors again this time around and the squeaking stopped. So this will be the time period in which we will wait and see. My gf's and I's 330s are both at 49,5 miles so I really do hope the squeaking does not come around again for the sake of our wallets.

I'm out of warranty now and my rear brakes are squeaking even worse than the last time I had the squeak problem. Is there a TSB I can bring in for them to help me or am i SOL and have to replace them myself?

So anyone get this covered with CPO warranty post 50k miles? I have been dealing with it for awhile now but it popped after 50k miles (ie after the comprehensive warranty expired and the limited CPO warranty took effect)

Was thinking about trying it when I take my ride in. Let's see if I can pull it off. Got the same issue. If anything I'll get a louder exhaust+bov

So i spoke with my shop manager and he says its a common error in models, and what it is is the break sensors rubbing on the break pad. he said if you look at the sensor it sticks out a little bit further then the break pads them selves....and the only solution he has for fixing it is shaving the sensor to be flush with the brake pads. worth a try?
