Not having an argument - frustrated with this board recently having an influx of hypothetical street racing questions posted. Typically I just lurk and read, but sheeeeesh. Anyways, go back to my first post, enjoy some autocross instead of street racing. You'll actually learn to drive your car and you won't have to worry about what people on the internet think about your chances during your street races. You'll also gain a new respect for Honda when you see some super modified civics tipping the scales at 1800lbs slammed to the ground and corner balanced ruining chances for everyone in the event from ZR1 on down to our lowly BMWs

I get that this is the internet with no tangible penalty vs cost of your car being damaged, but the logical premise of your comment about mods is the same. |

it's called car talk, sorry if you hate it but it's kinda fun and most enthusiasts enjoy it, especially on forums. even if it is endless speculation and for nothing but what ifs. AGAIN quit assuming just because someone would engage in such a conversation they are some mindless street racing moron with no concept of your incredible knowledge in the way of the almighty auto cross i auto cross lots of people here auto cross but we don't all run around bragging about it like our shit doesn't stink because of the fact, or try to tell people they're idiots because they're talking about something OTHER THAN auto crossing. seriously? if you hate threads like this, why did you even click on it? and if you have nothing of ANY use what so ever to add to it, please refrain from posting and stating your personal opinions and assumptions as the law of the land. NOW, op run this damn civic and get us a video! |

I was one of those shit talkers haha. I have a turbo tc with 238whp and 245wtq and I always raced people (private air strip) and from a roll it did really well. I beat a mustang shelby gt 350 by a half a car length from 25mph roll and ate 350z's lol and of course p.o.s. cobalt ss supercharged and turbo'd ones, s2000's, and about even with my friend's evo x with z-chip which added about 4* hp on the dyno. BUT, I got in my friend's 335i before I got mine and it was fast as ****! he had jb3 you shouldn't have anything to worry about lol. if he beats you from a roll (which most likely won't happen) ask him to race you from the dig =) and let his tires burn

Well, to answer the question: Can his turboed civic beat you? I would say it definitely could. Now, will he beat you? We'll have to see.

while .. i have personally seen what super fast civic can do.. fully modded. T4 turbo. independent fuel supply system...CAI .fully catless exhaust. coilover. even lighter AL frame was used .LSD .advance ECU timing. If your friend has this kind of civic.. i would say .. it is perfectly normal he could beat you ..or even smoke you.. otherwise. i would start taking tips for shifting at the right moment ..i think you can beat him with your mods if he just switch supercharge to turbo. if he put some serious mod in his car....you know he probably will will

There's no reason a civic can't make 355 whp with a 35r sized turbo and decent supporting mods. But I do agree people tend to exaggerate their numbers thinking others are as ignorant as they are. Saying putting a turbo set up will yield him exactly 355whp and 30whp from CAI are both laughable.

But if he does put turbo, anything equal to 35r or larger will spank you even from dig, given that he has good tune and his car stays in one piece during the race.

My del sol which is swapped and turbo can beat my 135 but the sol is 300hp and 200 tq to the wheels so it has the power and weight advantage over the bmw but from a dig the 1 can jump out but wouldnt have enough to hold off the sol...I would defintly do it from a dig and no kind of roll....Also depends on his suspension/traction mods because its easy to roast the tires...The specs you gave with a decent driver should be a mid 13sec which is about what the avg stock 335 runs
