Yeah I think all that thread explained was just how to turn off the drls or something like that. definitely not what we were goin for. anyone messed around with the big plug and the footwell module yet? I think that's our only hope.

i looked at the xenon adapter today. On the driver side light, spot twelve is black/green = halos, so spot one should be turn signal. But on the passenger side the green/black wire is spot eight or nine. now i'm confused. I'll take a lok at this nad try somequick-connecting this weekend if ai get a chance.

Well....
I gave this a shot this morning. I used the resistors that came as part of the LED corner replacement pack from one of our e90post vendors. A couple of things I have learned: 1. Spot #12 on the headlight adapter is DEFINITELY for the corner turn signals. 2. Finding a spot to mount the resistors on the driver side is VERY difficult without removing the air filter housing 3. There is NO pass thru from the sidemarker to the engine bay that I could easily find. OK...so I connected one end of teh resistor to wire #12, and one end to the ground wire #2. I ttok out the yellow stock turn signal bulb, plugged everythng in and started up the car....NO ERROR....the first two times. Then I got an error message and the turn signal started flashing rapidly...the tell-tale "you've got a short" kind of rapid blinking. So at one point I had both corner lights deleted, and no error message, but I still have no way of connecting the sidemarker to the headlight adapter. I took it all apart and put my car back together. I'll probably not try this again unless someone has a definite plan and procedure. I just don't want to risk cutting anything and permanently ruining the electric/light system. Hope my experience helps those of you still wanting to do this....

So.... when you finally got the error message again, did you figure out why? My guess would be the resistor came loose?
If you're not wanting to try anymore, send me your resistors, and I'll figure this shiz out at the FRM. |

I checked the connection several times....and I'll hold onto the resistors for now..maybe I'll get brave again in a couple of days. Maybe I won't use quick coneects next time... those things never work right for me.
edit: F*ck that... I am gonna give this another try later this week....now I'm pissed! ///Matt...working at the footwell module will also obviate the need to draw power from the sidemarker, right?

working at the FRM will allow you to get the power from the side marker without running extra wires through the body. you'll just need like a 1" patch. =)

where the heck is sunchild.
just to set things straight, that guy in the other thread, he simply was showing how to turn off the DRL's on the new model 07 e90s. not the corner blinker parking lights that stay on even when not signalling.

Just to clarify- what you were doing was essentially taking out the corner bulb completely, right? You were just trying to wire it so that the car wouldn't know.. What I'd like to know is if it's possible to have it just like the Europeans do- it's off when the lights are on, but it will come on when you use your blinker. That's what we're going for, right? Will the FRM allow us to do this, or is it all or nothing with this light?

Ches, how did you go about doing the first part. making the blinkers not blink and not get an error.

![]() you can even remove the corner light altogether, but then you won't have a front turn signal. Once I figure out how to run wires from the sidemarker to the headlight, this mod will be all but done. Just so you know, the quick-connects are a PIA to use, so I just stripped a section of wire #12 and wire #2 and connected the resistor and wrapped it in electric tape. It's taken apart right now, but next week, I'll try this again. HELP with the damn "running of the wires"!
