The vented hood is only available for the pre-lci coupes.

this is a completely random question but here goes:

alot of people know how the engine bay of the 335 can get a bit...... ummmmm... warm. do the vents improve cooling to the engine bay?

The vents will definitely help in cooling the engine bay. With that being said, you can definitely feel the heat coming off the vents if you put your hand over the area.

I've been running a vented hood on my car for over 2 years and have not had an issue without pins.
