Installed these today. Just the trunk/glove box/foot lights though. They are nice. Only thing is I wish they would fade out like the OEM LED handles do when you lock/unlock the car. While it dims, it'll only dim to a certain brightness and then turn off all of a sudden.

In defense to most LED kits, I seldom see them dimming 100% like a halogen bulb or similar. LED's require certain power to illuminate while a halogen bulb can provide light even with a minimal amount of power. Im trying to use easy words here as I dont want to get too scientific. I guarantee you will turn heads regardless. Everyone loves my interior.

I'm fully aware of why it happens so I'm guessing BMW must be doing something different with their handle/license plate LEDs because those dim all the way through.

Those are LED modules which are different then an LED bulb that replaces your typical 194 bulb per say. As you may have noticed we would all be hard pressed to fit LED modules for every bulb in the interior and the cost would be astronomical. But it could be done im sure.

Considering aftermarket LED Module replacements for your license plate range in the $40 price range, imagine replacing the whole interior, ooof. LOL.

I just want to let everyone know we joined up with working with HPB.

We finally got the prototype testing done on our version 2 interior kit.

Not much else to say except its even brighter and better.

Very Clean white lights, custom canbus (one of a kind) dome lights. ETC

In order to make this work on this car flawlessly we avoided universal bulb applications as they either did not work and would error out, or wouldnt produce the brightness we were looking for.

We should get around to pictures this week and offering a group buy for its first roll out.

Stay tuned for a new official thread.

Nice! I'll be waiting anxiously for that official thread! I might get in on that group buy if there's a neat little discount. bimmian.com has the new one up, but the page isn't active yet, but I was going to get the ultimate kit with replacement modules (and a few bulbs). Do you know if this version of the kit will have replacement modules rather than bulbs? Heck, if it doesn't need it, that's fine too, I just want really bright, really white light

Dude I'm telling you its bright.

Its so bright I had the owner of HPB make 2 versions of the dome lights cause I was blind after the install. (LOL).

The Dome lights and Map lights both feature Custom Canbus Modules.

The remainder of the lights feature normal LED, usually with 6-8 Pots of lights.

Should be up for sale by today on the site and we should be doing the group buy after some fresh pictures.

The pictures on the site as of today are the Version 1 kit. The have the ever so slightest tint of blue. The newest version is Pure white.

Awesome! Just happened to notice these were finally not "NOT IN STOCK." Can't wait to see pics.

Just curious how it'll mesh well with the current color temps of the door LEDs?

As to the LEDs that dim on the OEM door handles, I believe the proper way to dim halogens is varying the voltage, but the proper way to do it for LEDs is varying current. I think they aren't buttery smooth like OEM since the built-in power supply only can do so much with the voltage/current conversion...you'd need a way to change the way power dims from the source.

Nice! Keep me in the loop on the group buy, I'll probably do that, heck if I'm going to do it, might as well save a few $ where I can.

The new version 2 matches all around with a bright white.

As far as the logistics of varying voltage ETC that is very costly option I would imagine.

Just to make these customs bulbs took a lot of time research and $$ that frankly I dont think any other company has invested in. My .02 on that

I'm literally working on it as we speak.

They currently have a handful of version 2 in stock.

They have placed an order for more custom bulbs to be made so they will be fully stocked in the next week. At that point TGS will be holding a group buy.

Any specific questions can still be sent to HPB for the time being.

Yeah, me too. From what it seems, you sign up for a group buy by PMing the seller (if you'll notice, Jeff@Topgearsolutions has the words "BimmerPost Supporting Vendor". If you want to start a group buy, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure you have to be an authorized BimmerPost.com seller? But its basically a very small scale sale on these forums, and usually, there's a discount involved (from what I've seen so far).

Hey guys.

We just took some great pics tonight so fresh pics are soon to come.

Following that is a group buy.

What that usually entails is an official thread selling a specific product.

Group buy is when you get a specific group say 10 people to buy the kit at one time.

What follows that is a nice discount instead of paying full retail.

Sort of like a first come first serve kind of thing. Get in while its hot at a cheaper rate before the price goes back up.

More details will be available real soon as we wrap everything up.

Thanks

Jeff

Note: not an accurate representation of temperature color. Actual color is very white.

I'm just as anxious as everyone else to roll it out.

One request - if you could post what the color temp the camera was set to when taking the pics, that would be appreciated. Otherwise, "white" could actually be really blue/yellow/magenta/etc Just hard to tell with pics sometimes.
