Keep us posted on that... i'm interested in new downpipes anyway, so if they can help the sound that is a plus.

Man those are some nice welds on that muffler....just a testimate to the quality of your worksmanship.

I for one can't wait to get your exhaust on my 335...now if you could only do something with the weather so I am willing to put it on myself....

Haha. Weather smeather. Did you watch the videos of our 335i sedan? Those were taken on Thursday when it was -18 degrees celcius, with a -26 windchill factor!

Question, with a tune how much power do you think you could pick up with the car as is, just exhaust no other mods? I have a manual coupe and I do not plan on doing anything past exhaust/tune at this point (we'll see how long that lasts).
On a side note the torque curve taking a dive reminds me of watching a fixed boxing match. He's going doooown.
edit - Kudos for backing up the system so fast with dyno results.

Also, would a 3 inch instead of the 2.5 make a big difference with just exhaust/tune?

The torque curve follows the stock torque curve. Also note that it looks a lot more drastic considering it's a short recorded pull from 5250 RPM to redline. If you search other 335i stock dyno charts, they all look the same.

As for tuning, we are just waiting for a good form of engine management to get going with this. Hopefully, someone will have something good soon.

That was my first thought after reading the first post. Who exactly is $1,500 competitive to? A Milltek SuperDual exhaust for the B5 S4 is only $1099. Dual pipes, two mufflers built by Milltek for Milltek, no X-pipe, imported from Europe and has a trully beautiful exhaust note. I get to enjoy it daily!

The exhaust system for 335 by milltek is $1300.

Just give it some time. When more companies come into the mix, exhaust prices will come down and find that competitive mark. But I myself would have no problem paying $200 more for an exhaust system that sounds good and puts down some good numbers.

Darryl, thanks for the answers

I agree with Walked U. All these companies making products for our cars will only lead to better parts at lower prices. Competition fosters innovation and rock bottom prices.

Not to get off topic but I have been researching exhausts since I saw this thread, seems like we do not have that many choices after all. There is the agency power which in my humble opinion sounds terrible, the supersprint which is going to be more money from this thread:

http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?p=8471623

Then there is the CP-E, which is $1575 but I am not fond of the tips and again in my humble opinion sounds horrible because of the rasp:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...t=33799&page=4

And the milltek. Anyone have a sound clip of the milltek they can post?

edit:

Ok here is the milltek for $1400 excuse me for being a search newb:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...hlight=milltek

So Agency Power granted is $1200? but I personally would never consider it, this is $1395, the milltek which sounds good is $1400, CP-E is $1575 and Supersprint might end up being more expensive than the rest. How is this not competitive?

I'm not sure how many people have previous experience with turbocharged cars and aftermarket exhausts - but when a more free-flowing exhaust with less backpressure is installed, the resulting sound is actually QUIETER many times than previously - on this particular exhaust, if the X-pipe was not present (creating some airflow resistance) there wouldn't even be the increase in sound that there is...

I think 1395 is good price for full dual exhaust that is stainless. is there a lifetime warranty on this exhaust??? beautiful welds,by the way.

Please keep in mind, that this car is AUTOMATIC, and not a 6spd manual. Automatic is very hard to dyno as it's difficult to record a broad powerband from a low RPM because the automatic transmission downshifts to a lower gear (and thus higher RPM) upon WOT. This is why these dyno charts start recording at about 5250 RPM.

If you fully disable DSC and DTC (hold for 5 sec) BEFORE rolling onto the dyno, then you can do a WOT full runout from 1k to 7k RPMS on the automatic... just dont hit the "kickdown" button under the gas pedal, and make sure you are in DS mode and then use the stick (not the paddles) to select your gear.

take a look at shiv's thread about "dyno'ing a steptronic all proper like"
