PIAA H-499 LEDs
They look pretty bright in elac's pic. Try PMing him (post #35) and getting his opinion.

I can definitely see my Xenesis bulbs during the day, and they only cost $40.

Looks like we'll have to wait longer, I had a feeling that these would also be invisible during the day like the GP thunders, still waiting for E92 LUX......

Can someone help me out? My car is AW, what GP thunders do you recommend, 7500K or 8500K? I want them to look white, but i want them to also be visible during the day. Anyone else try Luminacs for their angel eyes?

I did this a long time ago. Hope it helps those still trying to get an idea what looks like what. The GP Thunders are 7500k.

I don't think these bulbs are accurately listed as far as Kelvin temperature, as true 8,500k would be pretty purple to the eye. The way they change the rating is to add deeper blue tints to the capsule, so you lose light the higher you go. OEM xenons are around 4,200-4,300k, and they certainly don't look too yellow.

hey guys, I believe there are different variants of the GP Thunder 8500K, as I have two sets of GP thunder 8500K.
I purchased my first set of GP Thunder 8500K monthes ago. They were bright with a hint of blue/purple. However, once at service, BMW replaced my entire right light housing/cover. so, when I picked up my car, the two sides' angels eyes looked funny as one side has GP thunder, and the other had factory angel eyes. So I ordered another set of GP thunder 8500k online as the two-tone angel eyes are too funny looking. However, I received a different version of GP thunder 8500k, which had a slightly different case. At first i only wanted to replace the factory angel eyes, as i assume the new set of GP thunders are the same as the old ones. As I finished swaping the factorys, i turned on my car and noticed the two sets of GP thunders looked different. The new set doesnt look as good as it is not as bright, and has a pure white color. At day time it is not as noticeable as the old set. currently im trying to find from where did i order the two different sets of lights becuase I don;t remember. I guess ill try to purchase the 1st set again. -- I just looked through my paypal history and found out Ive bought both set at hid-lights.com/. I guess ill take a picture of the two different sets' casing, if anyone is interested. They do light-up differently, that im sure. Last edited by hao2003; 04-23-2008 at 10:45 PM.. |

I think the only way to really find out the best angel eye is to experiment with several types of bulbs. I bought a set of mtecs, gp 7500k, and 8500k. In the end i went with the 7500k because they are 1) more visable during the day when compared to the other bulbs 2) not too blue 3) match the interior bulb perfectly. Im going to stick with the 7500k until the LUX for the E92 comes out. The 7500k looks great in the fogs as well!

Are these 8500k or 7500k?
So I purchased a set of H8 GP Thunder 7500k bulbs off eBay last week. I finally received today. But for some reason the tip of these bulbs is blue? Can anyone confirm that 7500K has blue tips? I always that 7500k had chrome tip, and 8500k had the blue tip.
