Given that I have a Panamera, I agree. The other car we looked at was the S Class, which was an impressive cruiser.

The 7 series is a truly disappointing vehicle in every way. I also assure you that the Panamera's steering sharpness and handling is better than any BMW I've driven.

Then again, the price tag is high too. The only people who don't like the Panamera have either not driven it, can't afford it...OR, can actually afford the ridiculously expensive Aston Martin Rapide and don't mind the lack of rear seat space -- at that point, the Panamera does take a bow...but its way more affordable to own and purchase than an Aston.

Looks is irrelevant, if you think the 911 is good looking, I'm pretty sure the Panamera and Cayenne look better than the frog eyed beetle. which is a brilliant car of course.

GT3 or RS, yeah RS is the sh*t but so is the GT3. Each has its own merits. Already have the gt3 so I'd add a turbo S for the longer trips with the gf. Of course the 2RS is one bad azz mofo but a recent road test favored the 3/RS for its high revving na engine.

To the OP I certainly wouldn't call the GTS a DD GT3. It is a RWD 911S (same suspension) with a power kit and wider hips, not much more. It is a wicked car but it's no GT3 and does not have the dry sump Mezger engine or any of the countless other gt3 parts, not limited to the suspension, brakes, transmission and wheels. It weighs more and pumps out less power as well and makes no where near the symphonic sound the gt3 does.

I don't get the appreciation for the Tubo...its a fine car no doubt, its a rocket ship.

But have you driven one with 6MT???

It has lag, its not bad, but there is lag...its not nearly as responsive as the Carrera S, much less a GT3. Duno, its just me but the less torquey GT3 has more driver's involvement and precision than the TUrbo.

Turbo seems like a nice rocket with PDK (all boosted cars are great with an auto type tranny)...but with manual tramission, I find it frustrating in comparison to the naturally aspirated options.

+1
I tend to agree that the Turbo should have PDK instead of the MT. I tried out several 997 TTs this summer and the PDK now makes more sense in the FI cars to me, too. The NAs are smoother and throttle control seems more precise. The modern turbos are a far cry from the 930 (and also the 993TT), but you can still feel that difference.

Thank God someone understands.

No doubt, turbo gives you that sensation of boost...and it is there, but the tradeoff is responsiveness and connection with the car.

The gain is obviously the speed acceleration

Turbo for me please. The perfect balance of a supercar/race car/GT car

A distant second, GTS, i love the concept.
