Thread revival! So, I am thinking about this mod but want to know more about it and hear about people's experiences with various systems. Hopefully I hear nothing but good stories as this seems like another great way to make my engine stay cooler and last longer. Pros? Cons? Can a 335i handle meth injection safely if installed properly & maintaned?! curiouser and curiouser! Mod Bug bites hard...

I have an account with n54tech also, but prefer e90post 4 some reason. not sure if it is the layout or whatever but I like it more.. I'll go check it out if they have more info on NTech. Hoping to get more from my E90post community though..

The only downside I see is most kits use nylon tubing and for those of us using mixtures higher than 50/50, it does create the lack of confidence that it might someday leak from the push fittings and cause a fire hazard. Best to do it right the first time and install AN fittings with braided hoses and not use nylon hoses into push fittings..I have my system installed for over 5 years and the nylon tubing became brittle under the engine bay. I was never at ease with this setup and frequently checked the lines. Now that I have braided hoses with AN fittings I am more confident of my setup. Compression fittings are better than the push fittings but both connections uses nylon tubing which I am not too comfortable with.
Otherwise methanol injection benefits performance and I find no drawback on using it... |

I have a question, if i am flash tuned and want to add methanol injection, then what are my tuning options since i don't have a piggyback to control the methanol injection?

Devils Own Kit with Stainless Steel Braided Line upgrade and dual nozzle upgrade + Snow or AEM Fail Safe. OR Aquamist OR AEM Kit with fail safe. (In that order) I can't provide links in this section of the forum otherwise I would. |

All the basic stage 1 kits from DO, AEM, CM and Snow are comprised of mostly universal parts which are the pump tank lines and nozzles. (I'm going to avoid the nozzle debate for the sake of ease as they technically do differ). So the only thing that can further separate those kits apart from the rest is either the controllers, failsafes or hardware in general. So when you take a DO kit, then mate it with stainless steel braided line hardware the only thing you are missing is the controller and failsafe. That's where AEM comes in. I should probably make an illustration or something but at the end of the day if you want to build a good kit and not pay the Aquamist price tag I'd do Devils Own Stage 1 + Upgraded Stainless Steel Lines + Dual Nozzle (If applicable) + Race Tank + AEM Fail Safe & Gauge. If you don't want to fit the race tank then a basic 1 Gallon Universal will be fine. If you have a JB4 then I still recommend sticking with the BMS kit since it has the failsafe and integration built into the JB4. The BMS kit is a coolingmist kit with the BMS failsafe. Keeping that in mind if you want to make a BMS/CM kit better you can get the DO braided lines but it will cost you more since it's not being purchased with a DO kit. Hopefully that answers some questions but it probably created more confusion haha |
