It is no new news that cars are cheap in the US. The retail on the E46 M3 over there was/is 49K.
Its due to a combination of things, luxury tax amongst the biggest of them. But yeah, still depressing

1st post I have arrived!

How about starting with our scum government and telling them to get rid of luxury car tax (kicks in at about $55k - that's what a hotted up falcon or commodore costs- the very cars the tax was designed to protect from cheaper and superior foreign imports!!!).

I say, if our car industry can't compete on price/quality/features after 50 years of tarrif and tax protection, then stuff 'em. Let us all buy cheap beemers instead.

What? We only have 26 aussie members, including lurkers (don't worry lurkers, I used to be one for ages. Every journey starts with your first vote/post)

I want this poll to be statistically significant!

27...

I remember when I was 24 (just) and used to be sooo jealous of people like you with such cool cars at such a young age. So lucky. You'll probably be driving a buggatti when you get to my age in a few years time.

Good for you. My parents and gf told me to get a house first. This was more important to me so I'm still renting. The house can wait.:rocks: :rocks:

BTW- I wish i could get my hands on a Bugatti Veyron.... But as Jeremy Clarkson said.... It's a sad day, knowing that i will never own one, or drive one again (& i haven't even got to drive it), cos there will not be a better car built in the next decade, i am certain.

Yeah, it's a great car and a great show. But I heard that (in an upcoming episode) Clarkson didn't like the E92 coupe. They always love British cars and love to bag german cars when they can....
