I sort of worked back what I think was my 0-60 time and it is coming out at 6.3 secs, ((60 / 83.05) * 8.7) so loads of room for improvement, plus I was changing at 6500 rpm where my torque curve starts to die off, so lesson learnt there.

My start revs were too high and I was getting loads of wheel spin, also spin when changing to second.

Never drive it in Auto if you want to go fast. The box will assume you're changing up, and the 2nd clutch will already be in the higher gear.

0-60 = 5.2 seconds consistently, and I have done sub 5's on other occassions - all depends at what rpm you shift. Car Dyno'd at 345 bhp 450Nm torque. No Mods.

Rev matching on downshifts. This makes you sound like a pro racing driver and gets a lot of attention, especially with the golf tee mod (another subject).

Launch Control. Look it up on youtube, it's fantastic.

Not to mention the lightning fast gear shifts.

Did 13.4 quarter mile at Santa Pod on Sunday and will be looking at 12.5 next time around when I can sort out the grip.

Last car was a Boxster, £1500 for a 2 yearly service, £500 for a broken ignition switch.
They cost big money to service and fix. Look nice though and you get more attention from women :-)

I'll think you will find that time is very good for a standard 335i. Shows
you have 340 ish HP.

I would suggest that your 0-60 on that run would be 5.3-5.4easily,

a 6.3 0-60 would leave a 335i well into the 14's over the 1/4mile.

Your 60 is actually half decent! Try launching a little harder with warmer tyres and less air and if you get it down to 2.0 then you could be doing 13.2's at the other end!!

Maybe it had been remapped by a previous owner? Or did you have it from new?

Maybe?? I bought the car at 2 years old with only 9k on the clock.

The reasons I doubted it were that the previous owner was a CEO at Vodafone (googled the name on the V5C) and I couldn't see a CEO remapping a company car.

Also, I bought it from BMW Sytner in Leicester and they serviced it before I picked it up, so thought it would have been wiped at the time.

I did use Shell V-Max and have seen graphs adding ~15-20 bhp, but nowhere near 40.
I wondered if it could have come from the factory like it, but probably not as the variation is too much.

Also, I thought maybe the dyno was wrong, but as dxb335d said, the 1/4 mile sounds about right for 345bhp.

I'm confused, but happy!!

Got to be mapped, you'd never get that much extra bhp/torque on a standard 335i.

Where did you get the car dynoed?

They had one setup at BMW show - Santa Pod last Sunday, cost me £45.

Great show - Only thing I had £200 in my wallet when I left home and spent the lot!

Is this an n54 or n55? if its n54 I believe that 100% on vpower for a stock car. vpower is good.

It does depend on alot of factors.

I got 322 stock

So they defo come in different forms.
Age and if the turbos have been swappped due to wastegate issue will have an impact
dyno set up - some over some under read
quality of fuel and the age of fuel
ambient air temp

also (someone may need to shed more light) but i think tire psi can also affect dyno?

Anyway if you get the good end of all these factors your bhp claim does not seem unreasonable.

That dyno at the pod was over reading by a good 20 bhp if you ask me all the cars weer coming out very high. Could explain it..
