i too was worried about this with the vorsteiner vented hood on a m3. many posts on e46 and m3forum and really didn't come up with an answer.
vorsteiner offers a covering that goes above the vents. the only downside is that these covers can be removed and stolen and the clips are VERY hard and can strongly snap the vents on the hood that its attatched too. with the closed hood, you have no worries. rain, leaves, etc collect in there but once driving everything goes away. with open hood, leaves, water, etc go into the bay and can be a mess sometimes. i am still worried about water going into the vent. i don't think i will ever be comftorable with a open vented hood on my car but thats just me. |
