Stylin...don't you think it would tast more or less the same if they substituted some other kind of cartlidge for the shark fins? The fin itself doesn't add much in the way of flavor.

Have you heard of bear bile farms? Yeah they fucking keep an open hole to stomachs of bears and drain them for their medicinal bile. There was a mother bear who was so sick of hearing her baby cub cry from the bile removal that she strangled it and then ran full out into a wall to commit suicide (truestorybro). |

I must say that I disagree with cutting the shark fin off and then throwing the shark back in the ocean to perhaps suffer or die. If the shark is fully grown like a fish and fished like a fish then I would see no difference between fishing for a shark or a fish. Whether one cuts the fins off a fish to be eaten or a shark is no different then all the cow, chicken and pig parts that are cut off, sold and eaten. The above is fine if the whole large fully grown shark is fished like a fish for full consumption just like ordinary fish but if it is just for the fin of the shark to where the shark is left to suffer and die then I would have to disagree. |

But that isn't what happens, because the only demand is for the fins, and you're helping this demand. The only reason to use shark fins in the first place is based on old vitalism-based superstitions. Also, sharks aren't like most fish. They give live birth to just a couple of offspring at a time, so they are very vulnerable to overfishing. |

The Above means that I disagree with cutting off the fin of a shark while alive and throwing the shark back in the water to suffer or die. |

Stylin: Do you eat shark fin soup? Do you eat any other part of the shark? Do you realize the sharks only produce a couple offspring per year?
You're part of the problem. If you're against cutting the fins off and tossing them back, you'll have to stop eating shark fin soup and explain to others why they should stop, too. |

This guy seems to be a really fun guy, i don't know weather the way he portrays himself in Hells Kitchen is the real him or this is the real him. I didn't like some of the episodes of Hell's Kitchen when he is too harsh on the contenders.
