I'd like to know the same thing, some sort of octane rating for the maps.
Drive=91 ACN?
Sport=91?
Aggressive=93+?

Thanks Ian. Here is what worked for me:
  • Went into support mode (Ctrl+Shift+F11)
  • Clicked "Exit updater mode" button
  • Went to Manage tab and deleted all of my saved logs (one was almost 1 mb)
  • Ejected and reconnected to AP
  • Clicked on Force Firmware Update support option
  • AP updated to latest firmware without issues

The only thing missing are the latest 3.01 maps, which I guess I can manually download and update.

guys just got off the Phone with cobb and they got my AP out of update mode and working again, Kudos to Shane he got it all sorted out with the fix above. in my case i had to take my stock rom file and move it to my desktop, remove my datalog files, force the Ap out of update mode then load the new maps from the Cobb website to the AP then reload my stock Rom File into the AP!

To all BMW AP users:

Before updating your AccessPORT, please delete the ROM file from your file listing in AP Manager. Please note, this will not delete your stock ROM file that the AP uses during the un-install process. Once this is deleted, you should now have enough memory and space on the AP and no problems updating the firmware on your AccessPORT.

If your AccessPORT is currently stuck in Updating mode, please connect to AP Manager, click on the Updates tab, and press Ctrl+Shift+F11. This will allow you to exit updating mode. Then, delete your ROM, check the "Force update" box, and do the update again.

As always, if you have any other questions, please call us at 866-922-3059 or email us at tech@cobbtuning.com

It should be exactly the same. You might have to hold down the FN key to access F11.

No problem... juste updated the Firmware and added the news 301 maps manually.

Wow, really big difference in the progression in delivering the power... with the stock throttle map you get no more on/off feeling!! Feels BMW stock in the characteristics of the power but with lots more power of corse...

For me, (in my manual 135i), I find that the "Alternate throttle V2" give you less throttle response in the beginning of the pedal stroke and give a burst of power at the end of the stroke. (about 70-80% of the pedal stroke). Didn't try the other alternate throttle.

Same question as you guys... whats the difference between linear et V1?

And the "drive" maps are a good addition for a kid of intermediate power delivery if you compare whit what was offered before (stage1 91 oct VS stage0).
Chears!
This product is juste getting better and better! Tanks.

You want guys to remove their stock ROM file from the AP????
If so, please explain then, how the AP can be used to uninstall/ un-marry the device unless you copy the rom file back from PC to the AP?

From the updates tab, the command was function, control, shift F11. Now I have the latest update but the new maps are no longer on the cobb site for download

Doesn't sound like it should be a problem.

I used to scoff whenever new piggy releases were hyped with "smooth" comments. However, I just tried the Agressive-Linear map on my way to work and all I can say that it's FTMFW smooooooovvvvv.

Because of this smoothness, it feels less powerful than the v3.0 93 octane map, but driveability/predictablitiy is light years ahead. Need to try other throttle maps to see the diff. Still hit peak 15.3psi with linear.

Color me impressed, as well. I tried the 3.01 Aggressive map with Linear Response and gave it a pretty hard drive this morning...much better!!!!

IMHO, WOT isn't the real test for this tune, it's when you modulate the throttle or go from half throttle to no throttle/WOT to half throttle/etc. I did that with the new map and it was smooth and predictable. The older maps made you feel like the car was about to be cut in half if you tried that. (Well, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but any of us running the AP knows what I'm talking about.)

Good job, if Stage 2 is this smooth we have a game changer.

For Stage 1 - all you need is 93 octane.

Just updated mine

and was surprised to see at least 6 codes needed to be cleared yet i've never had a single issue or engine light. Normal? Should I be concerned that i'm throwing codes? I wish I had written them down but was sitting in a roasting parking lot at work...

Murf,

If you can, please get a list of those codes to us via PM and we can investigate this issue further. Is your car showing those codes now after the reflash? Did you reset the ECU and did those codes also reset? Please let us know if you continue to have issues.
