Doesn't seem to be a delay at the VPC at all. Hopefully most of you will have your cars at the dealership this week.

I've been a lurker the last month, but thought I'd provide everyone with some hope that they will get their car soon!

Really? That's amazing! My dealership is in Temple, what are the odds that I was on that truck as well?

UPDATE: email from my CA this morning says there is a decent chance the car will be in on Friday and I can pick it up on Saturday!

Got it! I drove all of 3 miles from the dealership to lunch, then back to the office. Loving it so far.

Learned this today -

If Waggoner's Trucking is responsible for delivering your car to the dealership, you can call them for tracking updates. 800-968-8107. I don't think they are supposed to hand out this info to anyone but the dealers, but if you just tell them that yes, you are with the dealership, and provide the last seven of the VIN, they should be able to tell you precisely where the truck is. Satellite tracking and all that.

Update on day 2:

I figured out how to set the radio station presets, and turn on speed sensive volume. The audio system sounds excellent, especially when compared to the supposed "premium" audio in my old e39 540. That system sucked.

I did not get the correct Ipod Y adapter cable, but I did get the little leather pouch in the armrest. On a whim, I tried my white Ipod USB cable. Plug into the USB port in the armrest, and into the bottom of the Ipod. Works perfectly. I am still going to get the proper Y cable, since I am entitled to it, and if I sell the car, I will need it, but it looks like I do not need it now.

I stalled the car twice at stoplights. Goddam manual transmissions. It has been 5 or 6 years since I drove stick regularly, and I am out of practice.

The hill holder thing is really cool. I like it very much. No more rolling backwards on hills.

No holes in the front bumper, since I don't have plates yet, just a paper thing in the rear window. When the plates come in, they said I could just pick them up and install them myself. I think I will keep the second plate in the trunk, and act dumb if I get pulled over..... I will let you know how that works.

Arctic Metallic is a really bizarre color. In the garage, either with or without the flourescent lights on, it looks bluish. In direct sunlight, it looks greenish. Very cool.

29 miles so far. Loving every minute of it. I am afraid that something bad in my life has to happen to balance out the happiness. I will now reapply myself at work.

Does it seem like you have full functionality with just the iPod cable? Like can you play AAC files and have all of the controls, etc.?

I think I've handled the wait fairly well so far, however, my car was on the Freedom with roughly 500 - 600 others, it was released to the carrier from SC yesterday. My dealer says it won't show until Sat. Seems like it should be here ("Cleveland") tommorow, prepped and under me by Friday. Is that asking too much? 335 Coupe/TiAg/saddle/prem/sport/hot seats

let me think: the entireity of my library is either stuff I have ripped from LPs or CDs, or a few MP3s that I have downloaded.

The LP ripped songs are MP3s. The CD ripped songs (ripped in Itunes) are all AACs, I think. And yes, it seems to play them just fine. I can see the song name, artist name, album name and genre on the radio display, I can skip to the next song with the steering wheel controls. It turns off when I turn off the car, or turn off the radio. Plays in left and right channels.

so, yeah unless I am wrong and it is skipping AAC files without me knowing it, it has full functionality as far as I can tell...

Has Everyone Got Their Car Yet

My car was dropped off in New Jersey and I still don't have it here in Raleigh. Maybe mine is on a slow truck?

It's possible. I posted above regarding Waggoner's Trucking's ability to track their trucks on the road, maybe your trucking company can do it as well. Your dealer will have the name of the trucking co, just call and see what's up.

BTW - I'm picking my car up tomorrow! any advice on how to get through the night? It's like Christmas when I was six

UPDATE:

it plays AACs just fine. one small problem: when I go thru the Ipod menus on the radio screen, it does not show all the artists, albums, songs, etc. Under "music" the next level of menus is a bunch of gobbldy gook. So I cannot locate a specific artist, song, or album with this setup. Not such a big deal, since I just leave it on Shuffle and let it randomly play any one of the 7500 or so songs. No playlists either, pure shuffle is for me...

I assume with the correct 6FL cable I will be able to scroll thru artists, etc.

Interesting. At least I know I'll have a temp solution if they don't have the cable when I pick up my car. Thanks for the info.
