Spent the afternoon washing & polishing the car, thinking of what could have been.

Ah, the perils of being away from the net for a day. Turned up at Donnington Park at 2pm, waited around for 35 minutes, wandered into the Grand Prix Museum shop a couple of times. Drove around looking for people, thought, 'hmmm' a few times. Left.
Next time then! Jon. |

Sorry JonMad, we tried to get the word around on Friday.
Well I suppose you are the only one who can say they attended the very first UK meet. Did you get any photos? About time we saw some photos of UK spec E90's together!! We will organise another meet and hopefully you will be there next time to give us all a guided tour of the museum. See you all soon. |

No photos. A nice E60 M5 turned up. In my enthusiasm, on first glance I mistook it for an E90!

Beauforty tried to organise the original meet at Donington circuit in November 05, but problems with turnout stopped this happening.
So, what's everyone's thoughts on this? If you could post entries like the one below, it would make things easier to organise. Thanks. Viv |

Firstly, after a PM from vivekk regarding this thread, can I say how sorry I was to read it and see that the first UK meet fell through after so much effort, but reiterate the feelings of some of the guys who were going to miss out and say how pleased they were they would still have a chance to be part of the first one after all.
OK, so I will try to be as much use as I can here. Like I said in another thread I dont do 9-5, Mon-Fri, so advanced bookings are hard for me, however I do have some time booked off at the end of April for a holiday which has fallen through, hence have guaranteed time off. This includes the last two weekends of April (22nd/23rd and 29th/30th April), if these are of any use? If these dont work for the rest of you I will do whatever it takes (well almost!) to try to get some time off for another weekend in April or May if there is a date which is better for everyone else. All I can say though is the more notice I have the better. Next for the checklist: • Car: E90 320d M Sport, Black Sapphire • Location: Harrogate • Date: See above (will try to accomodate) • Venue: Any central location eg Leeds, Nottingham, Leicester, Mars, and hopefully somewhere picture sque where the cars can shine. • What I'd like: A decent day/night out, and to start something that we could do again! What is the point of having clear lenses if we can't show them off?? • Contribution: Cleat lenses, a round of drinks and most importantly an E90!

Count me in for end of April
Certainly up for joining you guys at end of April (beginning of May difficult). Now had my Le Man 330d M sport since Nov and enjoying every moment. Central location no problems, what about Warwick Castle, National Motorbike museum, Donnington Park etc?

By the way, weekend of 5th/6th/7th of May is not a good one for me, so count me as a negative for that one. Hope that doesnt result in me missing it , just thought I would let you know when i definately cant do it as well as possibly can!

As I technically made the first UK meet I should sign up my interest for the second!
Car: e90 320d SE TiAg Location: Fleet Date: Saturdays are good, not Easter weekend. Venue: Somewhere within a hundred miles or so. What I'd like: To get together and talk randomly about cars for ages, and a driving route would be good (Cat and Fiddle?) Contribution: Err, me and my car. |
