So my eyes did NOT deceive me. I saw that commercial for the first time and it was hard trying to contain the smile. Coming from a G35 myself, I think that both cars should get the attention that they deserve and of course to different people, one would be held on a higher pedestal than the other.The G-series are quick without a doubt and although the 3 series comes with a fraction of the speed of the G, but the entire build of the car is more refined.

It's not about the money. You drive a BMW. Why would money matter? It's about the driving experience. You really think a Mustang will come anywhere near the feeling of an M3? Yeah ok. Its normal practice to compare to competitors in an ad, its about positioning.

Maybe they wanted the consumer to do a direct numbers to numbers comparison between the G and the BMW, since BMW does tend to overprice

All of you BMW fanboys are hilarious. I highly doubt even 5% of you track your cars regularly so when you say "Vs are not as good a cars" or "it's still an American junker," you really have no idea what you are talking about. The V does very well against the m3 on the track and I won't even discuss what it would do to an evenly moderately tuned 335i. I have only tracked against some old generation Vs, but they are highly capable on the track, the only Down side is the weight which subsequently effects the handling. The newer gen Vs are freaking awesome and have great handling.

In regard to feel, I still like how the BMW drives over a V, you just feel more in tune with the car and what it is doing, partially because of the lighter weight. Z06, different story, lol.

Bottom line is if you haven't been on the track with another car you can't be quoting road and track because it is someone's opinion and you have no first hand knowledge about the full capabilities of a car. So basically everyone here is just talkin out of their ass, ha.

Here is a story you might like.

Once upon a time my friend had a CTShit-V, he also had opinions much like yours... Then! one day when he was driving along enjoying his super fast and super awesome handling car to attend his sisters wedding he felt a jerk and his car broke down Thank goodness for onstar and all the other cars he was travelling with helping him out or he would have never made it to his sisters wedding. After watching his CTShit-V get towed away, he continued his journey upset/frustrated about getting a CTShit-V and wondering what could have happened to his super fast/super awesome handling beast.

When he later went to the stealership, he was very surprised to find out there was an issue with his ECU and his transmission had failed on his CTShit-V which only had 23,000 miles on it. Luckily the car was in warrantee and he didn’t have to pay the $10,000 to fix it. Now he drives a super cool BMW, engineered by smart people who spend more money on R&D and less money on their CEO's vaction.

Moral of story --- CTShit-V is super fast and has super awesome handling. (engineered by dumbasses Oh and also Ferrari copied some of their idea’s too)

Interesting how ll these other companies always advertise taking shots at the top companies like BMW or Mercedes, but BMW and Mercedes advertising almost never take shots at them since they know they're at the top. One of the ones I recall is the Audi vs. BMW billboard in Socal but it was really just BMW responding, not firing the first shot (I'm talking about the Audi: "Your move, BMW." BMW: "Checkmate." fun.

328i has a GM transmission which is not nearly as good as the 6L90E in the CTS-V.

GM (performance divison) and BMW cars have their issues. Most people buy them for the driving experience. If the reliability and quality is your highest priority, Lexus is a better choice.

Not sure about the Lexus thing, my daughters ES350 has been in the shop 3 times as much as my BMW's, I know it's not the normal thing but I really don't have much good to say about Lexus.
