I highly highly recommend getting new bolts and washers. sorry to say and not knocking down the quality of the pipes...but the damn bolts and washers really do suck lol. i was tightening up a bolt on the exhaust and literally just stripped it right onto the bolt. it took an additional 30 minutes trying to cut the nut off the bolt...serious pita. I went to lowes and bought some bolts that were the same thread and a little shorter in length...4 bolts, 8 washers (for bolt and nut), 4 nut locks, and 4 bolts. they were sort of bronze in color but were the strong available.

Hey man! what codes were you throwing? I am throwing P10305 and P0305.
They are misfire codes for cylinder #5. Also, says o2 sensor in bank #1 sensor #2 is bad. Do I just have my sensors crossed? My car does the same thing shakes under any kind of acceleration and then I get SES. ![]() Quote:

right...i only had a problem with 1 screw and bolt...but still i would not mind just going up there to upgrade to something a little stronger.

You have the sensors crossed. The grey wire is the short pipe, black is the long
![]() Make sure they match, back and fourth. Although I haven't personally had any problems, I'll look into upgrading the hardware in the future. |

has anyone else noticed that after installing the downpipes that there is a slight clanking noise right around the end of the transmission area inside the car?
well i noticed it and it really bothered me...it wasnt that loud but i could hear it and only during idle at around 600-700 rpms. took it to the dealership and they looked at it and said that the dps were too close together where they meet the midpipes. i looked under there myself and noticed there is only like 1mm separating them lol. so i had to take everything apart again and realign then and got it to about 3-4mm apart and seems like got rid of the noise but we will see. so for you guys that are about to install them make sure you align them right so you dont have to get under there again. on the stock dps there are hangers on top of the cats to be held onto the subframe....however these dps do not come with the hangers. i looked at pictures of other companies like ar and aa and neither of those come with hangers either...guess they felt they were light enough to just hang there on their own. anyway if its less than 3mm apart you will get a clanking noise.

Sounds like they were misaligned. It's not due to the lack of hangers, it's more of an installation error
![]() While we love the fact that a lot of guys are DIY'ing, you really need to know what you're doing in order to install a set of downpipes successfully. A few mm in the wrong direction is all it'll take to rub/rattle with 3" pipes. Next time rather than taking it to the dealer, try shooting us a PM or an e-mail. We offer support on our products ![]() |
