Isn't it labled on the front.
Isn't it labled on the front.(upper left corner)
I believe the US only has the Pro Radio. They only time the business radio is mentioned here is when its a Non Us poster. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=687463 pictures of the business radio in entry 1 and as you can see its labeled and has less selection buttons and a different button layout. If you buy a radio of ebay it needs to be programmed for the sound system and options on your car. There are big threads already explaining this. Also there are variations on the pro radio. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ighlight=Radio Last edited by ctuna; 07-29-2015 at 06:21 PM.. |

Wellps, I did mine and it seemed easy and straightforward, did everything the instructions said however the end result seems to be inverted quadrants.
My guess is one of the connections is backwards but want to make sure it's not a faulty LCD before I pull the unit apart again. Any thoughts? |

If you swap radio's there is about a 98 percent chance you
will get a radio that is not programmed for the sound system and option in your car . Better to send the exitsting one to someone that will do the Pixel repair and send it back. Be sure to write down your Serial number if you send it in so you get the same on back. Getting a new one programmed can be a more expensive and convoluted At least the above is the case for all cars past 2005. Last edited by ctuna; 12-16-2017 at 08:04 PM.. |

Hi!
I have done all the procedure and I get this display (background is too orange, it should be more black) https://ibb.co/nzSJ1V What could I have done wrong? I am 99% sure that the orange background is mounted in the right direction, the only thing I noticed is that this orange paper was a little glued to the old LCD. Perhaps I should have mounted it more close (I mounted it on the white support, but it should all close together) or glued it? Last edited by Alvy; 10-25-2018 at 02:52 PM.. |

I had the problem a few posts back where the second and third quadrants were blinking solid orange while the other quadrants were black. I actually returned the screen and put the old one back. I can barely see the quadrants flashing so they're still there. Maybe I had the iron on the board for too long, I don't know, but now I'm facing another problem. If I have the radio on, the presets will cycle through them in 2-3 second intervals. If a CD, same thing, but tracks. Hot or cold, it's totally random. I don't know if it's the head unit itself or the steering wheel button.

Does anyone have a current source for these screens? It seems like all of the vendors mentioned in previous threads have dried up and the only ones I see on eBay are really expensive...

It seems like the CD73 LCD module is no longer in production. Anyone have a source or advice on upgrading a 2006 model to an LCI radio?
*edit* found this info, but appreciate any other advice: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1036190 https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=687463 Last edited by drawz; 11-16-2020 at 12:07 PM.. |

http://www.bestpixelrepair.com/pixel...r-service.html
https://www.germanaudiotech.com/prod...iant=535851565 Best pixel is out of stock.. German audio tech charges $350 ! That's as much as a new radio, no ? All other search results I found are out of business, stock, etc. Any other current options ? |

Morning all,
I have the BMW Professional with DAB in my car that's suffering from the pixel loss. I ordered a replacement off eBay but it's the standard, non-DAB radio so obviously the aerial connections are different. So...I'm considering just swapping the complete fronts of the two radios as they look identical. Does anyone know if this is possible or are they going to be different? Thanks |
