Booting AP Manager works fine. Updating is going now, but somewhat slow.

Good grief I was just at COBB Plano yesterday and they wouldn't give me this update, I had my ETS IC installed and dyno tested.

The DME logic error results in a complete loss of power when you need it most which can be scary and embarrassing. The vehicle will run ok once restarted but will shutdown again when the vehicle experiences the same conditions that caused it the first time (high load).

Unfortunate that the revised maps are having this issue since it was already addressed in the past.

It would be great if Cobb could explain what exactly causes this issue and why it is happening again on the new maps.
thanks butters i just want to make sure my car is running properly and it can handle the tune that was my main concern. knowing its a dme only issue and not hardware related makes me feel a little better but again ill reflash the LT map and if it does not work ill load the ST map and get this worked out with cobb. great service btw.

Took the car for a spin with the new Stage 2+. Super smooth everywhere. No strange oscillations or surging. Very predictable. No faster than the old maps, but so smooth that it almost feels a little easier to reach speed.

Just got this message when updating:

"Your AccessPORT now contains a different ECU Data backup than the local backup on your computer. This is possibly due to uninstalling and reinstalling on a different vehicle, or the ROM on your ECU may have been upgraded by a dealership.
Would you like to replace the local backup with the new ECU Data from the AccessPORT?"

AP wasn't on a different car, and there have been no dealership updates....so ignore this or what?

Thanks,

Im using 1.6.5.0-2751, at least thats what it says when my ap is plugged in at the top of AP manager.

Just took the car out on the v400 stage 2+ aggressive. Just as everyone has reported much smoother now, no more surgeing for me in between 3-4k rpms. I will say that I kind of miss the v301 maps though. I did about four 1/4 runs using the AP and couldn't beat my best trap time of 119.9 mph which was on the old maps. Tonights times varied from 117.8-118.8 mph. I didn't bother switching back to test v301 as it takes much longer to switch between maps.

Also immideatly after loading the new map when coming to a stop sign my car at idle made a wierd sound that went away with a small amount of throttle or switching to neutral. Happened twice, and never heard it before. No idea if it was caused by the map change, but I'll keep my ears open for it and try and get it on video next time.

press ctrl + shift + f5 on the update page from memory that will force you out of update mode.

You need to update your AP with nothing in there - so delete all the files from your AP and update it again.

thanks for the info! i was just over on the Cobb forum searching for a solution while you posted...and was able to solve my issue following JamJay's post over there:

- Click the 'Options' tab
- Untick the 'check for beta firmware' box under the 'updates' sub-menu
- Update the AccessPORT with the last (non-beta) version of firmware, this should install ok but is obviously not the latest version (beta) that you wanted.
- Eject your AccessPORT & unplug it if you want. Now close the AccessPORT Manager
- Re-open AccessPORT Manager
- Click the 'Options' tab
- Click the 'Advanced' button under the 'Updates' sub-menu
- Tick the "Check for beta AccessPORT Manager" box
- Click the 'Update AccessPORT Manager' button (this will download the latest version)
- Open the AccessPORT Manager once it has downloaded
- Tick the 'check for beta firmware' box under the 'updates' sub-menu
- Plug in your AccessPORT, once connected the AccessPORT Manager will alert you that a later versions (beta) is available to download, click 'yes' to download or 'no' to return to the manager. I chose 'no' because I wanted to make sure all the maps were backed up onto my PC first, I then downloaded the latest firmware.
- Click the 'Updates' tab
- Click the Update Firmware button

lol i'm tempted to go ahead and download the beta maps but I've been having troubles with my car for the past 2 months and i FINALLY got the issues worked out so I'm enjoying the v.301 maps now fully haha don't want to download beta maps and run into problems =[

btw, for the 3k rpm "surge" ... are they referring to the feeling of moar boost that hits around there? (kinda feels like vtec?) i actually like it to be honest... but thats just me haha
You should try it, I hated the double surge or vtec if you should put it. It was like if I go WOT I'd get the initial surge then around 4.5k bam another one. With V400 maps just one strong surge like a N/A V8 which I like. Power still drops off a bit after 6400 RPM on stage 1+ which is what I'm running.

Yes, and I thought the turbo 'kicked in', again!

The V400 map is way better. Would like to see the dyno chart though.

Great work COBB. I'll do a few more logs with the stage 3 map today for you to analyse.

Other than the hardware requirements for Stage 1+, what are the differences between Stage 1 and this one?

I just flashed the v400 S2+FMIC Sport map ST this morning and logged a 2nd/3rd gear run from 0-100mph. Will graph and post it up this afternoon when i get home from work.

The map definitely feels smoother and I've had no problems with moderately aggressive driving and the one aggressive run that was logged.

Thank you, Cobb! Will continue to give feedback.
